Skip this experience and rent a cabin Close by. It would probably cost you the same and be more comfortable. With the amount of money we were charged to stay here I was expecting more. Upon arriving I first noticed a closed up smell in the room. After taking a shower I realized there is no ventilation in the room. There is a grate for a vent screwed to the ceiling to give the illusion of venting, but it serves no purpose. The ceiling in the bathroom is falling apart and mold is growing as a result. The tile in the bathroom is DISGUSTING! I have stayed at other hotels and they spray the grout with a chemical and steam vac the floors clean. Maybe invest in a few carts with a steamer vac for your cleaning staff. The rooms are really warm from no air flow. The ac works ok but could spare to be updated as well. Our room had a sofa in it. If they were to start anywhere with updates it should be with the sofa! Ours smelled like stale pizza and felt dirty when we sat on it. The beds were comfortable and clean! The comforter needs to be switched out to something lighter and more up to date. But overall the bed was a relief to the awful bathroom. The staff is friendly and helpful! They all appear to enjoy their job. I would never

Our family stayed here recently for a short road trip to Silver Lake. The staff was great but the overall hotel is quite dated. The room was clean but smelled really bad to the air freshener that they use to mask the smell of it being a smoking room. We literally had to open our window to air everything out. The pool was ok. Although, the pool area needed a serious cleaning. There was green slime on the tile by the hot tub area. The breakfast buffet was mediocre. It filled us up but nothing spectacular about it. Overall, we probably won't stay here again. If it's the only place around that had rooms available, we would probably stay here but only under that circumstance.

Stayed at the Comfort Inn...the ladies that worked there were soooo nice. Room was clean. Rented bikes from hotel.....Nice, flat, shadybike trail...Went on the Mac Woods Dune Rides and that was breathtaking. And I got engaged on the beach at Silver Lake under the stars!

This hotel was nice and clean, I was a little worried after reading some of the previous reviews. Our room was spacious we had no problem with check in or staff. It was a pleasant experience, we never had trouble getting a parking spot close to our entrance. We were on the 2nd floor there are no elevators but it was not a hard climb. I do wish there was a ice machine on the 2nd floor but it wasn't that big of a deal to go downstairs. The beds were comfortable and we did not notice any outside noise. We would stay again.

Have stayed at the Comfort Inn Hart several times over the past 6 or 7 years with friends. This is a good, basic hotel with the extra perks of a sizeable, indoor pool with jacuzzi tub; plus easy access to the rail trail (for walking or biking) that runs directly behind the hotel. The front desk staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are nothing out of the ordinary, but are clean and reasonably comfortable for a hotel of this class. The beds are more comfortable than many other hotels where I have stayed before. The bathrooms are clean, but could use some freshening up. There is no elevator to the 2nd floor, but easy access by 3 staircases. The hotel tends to be busy on the weekends, and there are often birthday parties in the pool area. There are a few places within walking distance for food -- a pizza & pasta place, Subway and McDonald's. Full grocery store about a mile up the road toward Hart. The breakfast at the hotel has improved to add cooked eggs and sausage or bacon in the past year or so (although industrial quality). The option to make fresh waffles is great, plus they have hard boiled eggs, a variety of bread/muffins/etc; fresh fruit, juice, milk, cereal and coffee all day.

Room Tip: ask for a room that looks over the grassy area in the back, rather than over the parking area.

My family of 4 visited the Comfort Inn in Hart, MI this past weekend. We stayed a single Saturday night. We found the customer service to be great. The front desk staff were very helpful both at checkin/check-out as well as other requests. The room was clean and met expectations. My kids loved the pool area. The pool is large and has a deep end of 6.5 ft. There is quite a bit of open area around the hotel which guests were using to play frisbee when we were there. Was nice to have some space to have family time.

My only complaints or Warnings are, there is no elevator in this hotel so make sure you get a first floor room. The breakfast buffet was well appointed, but the flow of traffic through it was not set up well.

Other than that, I would recommend this hotel. We paid $149.00 for a two queen room and it met our expectations for a room in this price range.

Room Tip: First floor as there is no elevator in this hotel.

I should have looked more closely at all the reviews before booking this hotel. We came after several nights at a wonderful Comfort Inn in Traverse City, and were expecting something at least somewhat similar in quality. This place was a complete disappointment. The property is old and dingy, the sheets were stained and metal fixtures in the bathroom had rust spots. This is a two story building with no elevator, which should have been my first clue that it's an "older" building. Decided to make the best of it since it was our last day in MI, but the last straw was the bug I found in bed at night. I don't think it was a bedbug, but still. We ended up checking out at 11:30 pm (at least the night clerk was sympathetic and apologetic, definitely a different attitude from the woman who checked us in earlier in the day) and just driving through the night to get home. All in all, a poor reflection on the Comfort Inn brand.
