“Quiet & Peacefull”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 24, 2008

Wonderfull small motel on the lakefront. Quiet and peacefull with a small beach on the water. Dog friendly, as long as you follow the motels request to use specific areas for your dogs potty breaks. Listen to the loons on the lake in the morning as you sip your morning coffee just outside your patio door. Affordably priced, management was very helpful with directions and dining recommendations. I will definitely stay here again on my next trip up this way.

You are made to feel at home here. You can go out the back door right to the lake. Beautiful shade trees and great landscape. The owners go out of their way to make sure your comfortable. Great place. Hope to visit again soon!!

I would say this is the rudest place I have ever stayed at in my life. I have been in more than 100 motels in last 12 months in 6 states for shows and events and THIS takes the cake for rudeness and aggressive argumentative disruptive styled management than I have ever encountered. This does not mention they reuse the towels if not placed on floor when leaving for the day. This is even posted with labels on the wall to say such. Even the kleenex boxes state with labeling that not to take! There is almost more labels posted in the rooms than there is wallpaper even if outdated. The policies of canceling are even worse with no customer satisfaction being sought to keep returning rather they operate more for a one time take your card and not have any intention to allow for changing plans when they cannot accommadate a full stay in one room or cottage and when needing to cancel when another competitor can accommadate they force a stay or charge the full room fee anyways as a cancellation fee. The pricing is OVER CHARGED compared to other places in the same vicinity. This is definitely one to avoid if possible and we as our experience will never return and have posted on our business directory of places to avoid in future for all our representatives to avoid as well. I hope this helps fellow travelers as well as forewarns for this was our experience and we are usually easy to please with being so tired from travelling we ask very little.

  • Liked — Leaving!!! and that is being polite.
  • Disliked — Everything especially the customer service and the people management skills.Rude ignorant

While we try to give every traveler that stays with us a positive experience, there are those that get caught taking motel property and vent their anger in a negative review. Please be assured that our policies are posted clearly on our website and on the confirmation we send and we treat each customer equally. Our repeat customers comprise over 85% of our business and our rates are well below those charged by other comparable properties. We offer an area tourist guide unique to our area and are the only waterfront motel/hotel in Clare County, MI and the only AAA approved property in Harrison, MI. We have been awarded a very clean review from AAA (and my mom) every year. Thank you for taking the time to read our response.

Nothing fancy, but the rooms were clean and in good condition. Nice and quiet. Good place to get a good night's sleep.

Most rooms hava a patio door that faces Budd Lake. There's a path down to the water where you can sit and watch ducks, loons, pontoon boats, etc. go by.

Only negative would be the shower stalls (no bathtub) are very small. My husband felt a bit claustrophobic in there.

  • Liked — Being by the lake
