We always go to Nubs while in the area - it seems much more manageable than the Boynes and seems to attract the locals and families. As opposed to partyers, singles, etc. The lift ticket prices are comparable to Boyne, the ski rental system is easy and the food is really good! You can eat at the lodge at the base, or at the far side of the lifts. The purple lift is free and good for beginners. The bar is usually packed at 4:30 on weekends - it's rustic but fun. There's a small ski shop in the main lodge. No overnight accomodations here - but most of the time parking isn't an issue.
