We always go to Nubs while in the area - it seems much more manageable than the Boynes and seems to attract the locals and families. As opposed to partyers, singles, etc. The lift ticket prices are comparable to Boyne, the ski rental system is easy and the food is really good! You can eat at the lodge at the base, or at the far side of the lifts. The purple lift is free and good for beginners. The bar is usually packed at 4:30 on weekends - it's rustic but fun. There's a small ski shop in the main lodge. No overnight accomodations here - but most of the time parking isn't an issue.

Most runs took us under 90 seconds. Despite being a saturday the lift lines were not too long.
Snow conditions were good enough but variety was lacking. good hill for kids, not for adults.
Espresso bar in the chalet was gold though, and definitely appreciated the macchiato i had there.

We have been to other northern Michigan resorts and Nub's has the best snow and service. Lift lines are short, the lodge is comfortable, and the food is great.

Spent all day Friday cruising the beautifully groomed runs. Went in for the best chili and grilled cheese hamburger which ROCKED. They take a burger and put it inside the grilled cheese, it's not on the menu but they aim to please. They have chefs not cooks and scratch make all their soups.

Great food including soup, sandwiches to order, deli, and lots of extras. Friendliness ski lodge in Michigan. Great skiing and great food.
