scenic Lighthouse on Lake Michigan. Visit the historic lighthouse and lighthouse keepers quarters. See the old lighthouse keepers uniforms. Quite a bit on the history of the local commercial fishing industry. Hear about the ghosts that inhabit the lighthouse. Watch the film offering the hsitory of the lighthouse and area.

“Fabulous find”

You don't pronounce it like normal French, we learned: si-SCHWA. Everything else is accurately restored in great detail. Up the spiral staircase ( one grand-teen went to top, but couldn't face staning up). Her older brother got the view, identifying islands & looked for house where we stayed. All visitors have enjoyed knowledgeable volunteer staff. Small donation is requested for upkeep, maintenance. Special holiday events to be checked out, incl, I believe Spooky sleepovers with supposed ghost!

“Very nice”

If you love lighthouses this is good one! It has been lovingly restored and being cared for by the historical society. It has been very well restored and is very nice. The keepers house, light, fog horn room and grounds are all lovely and open for self guided tour. There are knowledgable and friendly staff to answer any questions. There are 96 steps to the top of the tower but chairs on each landing to rest on the way up. We visited on a beautifully clear day and had to go. The view was awesome! There is a gift shop with a 45 minute historical movie on the lighthouse and the keepers you can watch. The fee is $4 per person and worth it. The name Seul Choix is pronounced sis-shwa meaing "only choice" in French. They open at 10am.

I'm a lighthouse fanatic. I was born too late to be a lighthouse keeper; :-( but, I'm planning on volunteering at one when I retire!
This is one of the best I've toured. The house is beautiful, very well preserved with a lot of period furniture. It looks as though it is still being lived in.
The grounds are also very nice. The view from the top of the lighthouse is awesome. (Beware there are 96 steps in a very narrow staircase. Look at the view - don't look down if you are adverse to heights!
Hint: Don't use the restrooms! As I've found in most Michigan state parks, rest stops etc. they are very lax in emptying them! Quite a stench!

“Beautifully preserved”

We tour the house and grounds of this beautiful place on July 22, 2013. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. We did not tour the lighthouse itself, but it looked like a lot of fun.
We enjoyed the tour of the house and museum.
