Reviewed September 8, 2008

We had a wonderful experience. The bed was very comfortable and the property was very clean. The restaurant at the hotel had great food and service. The staff were all very professional and helpful. We can't wait to go back!

My husband and I stayed one night at this hotel for a meeting. We checked in after dark and the outside of hotel looked uninviting and a little run down. The room was slightly shabby and not inviting either. We went back to ask for a king but were told none available. I then checked out the bathroom and the toilet seat surface was cracked and wrinkled. We almost went back to change rooms but it seemed to be a bother and figured we could deal with it for one night. They have an indoor "former holidome" swimming area. It closed at 10:00 pm and the lights are turned down or off and made it seem kind of scary. The baseboards were off the walls in all the hallways so I'm hoping it was to replace carpet because in made the halls look shabby too.
The meeting room was fine and the restaurant was good. I have to say that during the day with more light the "holidome" seemed not as scary. Not the parking lot.
I went next door to check out the Days Inn for future reference and that hotel looked much newer and nicer and the rooms were good. Cheaper too.

  • Liked — Meeting room and Restaurant.
  • Disliked — Rooms and outide of hotel.

Stayed at the newly remodeled Ramada Inn, formerly the Holiday Inn. No elevator, had to find an old stairway to carry up suitcase to 2nd floor for non smoking room. Carpeting in hallway dirty, had a barny old feel. Room was updated with new carpeting and wallpaper. Bed squeaky all night each time I turned over it woke me up. Bathroom updated as well. You get a $2 coupon off for breakfast which is in a restaurant with a 4 season room next door with pool and games. Got a newspaper but no ice machines worked and appeared not to be working for awhile. No baseboards on walls in hallway, but did not appear to be working on paint or anything...so not sure how long it has been that way. Hus stayed there a few weeks ago and was unhappy there. The restaurant was cute, but they were out of peanut butter and bananas (hmm) when I asked. Buffet was very minimal, cold cereal, fruit and waffles.
Enjoyed staying at the next door Days Inn last year more than the Ramada this year..

I made our reservations well over a month in advance and upon arrival they had no record of it. I was able to get a room but for the price it was not worth the stay. We moved next door to the Day's Inn , much nicer and better rate.
Friends of ours also booked a room here and they not only had no record of the reservation but they had already charged them for the room. They were made to pay a second time.
Definately would not reccomend this place.

Stayed the night here a few years back when it was still the holiday inn. Apparently it had terrible reviews back then, but I do not any real problems with the place. It was just an average hotel and nothing real outstanding stood out in my mind.

This hotel has been remodeled not long ago. The whole property is VERY clean, and everyone was fantastic. Had a meal in the bar - great food and service. Had breakfast in the restruant - great food and great service. We drove up from Detroit and spent one night.

My family recently stayed at Holiday Inn Grayling, we traveled with children and adults. We were treated very rudely by hotel staff, but that's not the worst of it. My wallet was stolen out of my purse, and stranger's drinks were charged to our tab at the SpeakEasy Saloon, which is attatched to the hotel. What's worse is we were treated horribly by local law offcials regarding the incident. The hotel is not one of the nicer to begin with, but apperntly it's unsafe as well... if you are considering the area, let this be your red flag. Don't waste your money.
