This was our first time staying at Gates Lodge and eating at the attached restaurant. The dining room is small and quaint with fly fishing themed local art on the walls, But the best view is the huge windows overlooking the crystal clear waters of the Ausable River, one of the best trout streams in North America.
As if the view wasn't enough, the food was fantastic! Not pub grub like everywhere else in Grayling, but delicious fine dining at affordable prices. They don't serve alcohol but you can bring your own wine.
They also have some burgers made from local beef if you don't feel like splurging. Everything was delicious and I wish we had room for their desserts which looked awesome as well. We'll definitely be back, there's nothing like it in the area.
