For the price, not bad. Good size room, decent bed, decent bath. Free wifi, flat screen tv. Fridge and microwave in room. Not far from downtown GR, right off 131 freeway. Tons of fast food places around, but need to go into downtown or other areas of GR for better restaurants.

Room Tip: Back side of the hotel is probably quieter, but all are pretty much the same.

Like anywhere else, your experience at the Travelodge Grand Rapids depends on your expectations. My wife and I paid $75 for the night before July 4th and were happy with our decision. The room, though there wasn't much to it, was comfortable and clean. The fixtures and TV were fairly modern, and we found that there weren't any cracks in the ceiling/walls/counters, etc. The room was well-kept. The bed was surprisingly comfortable given the condition of others we've experienced in economy accommodations.

Breakfast was minimal but present - it had everything you need to get a quick start back on the road but certainly wasn't a super buffet.

In all, there's not much to say about this location...but it's designed to be just that: a cheap, minimal place to rest your head. It did the trick for us and, if that's what we're looking for, we'd recommend it to you.

There was a large group of us that checked into this hotel (11+) . The front desk was ok, she seemed annoyed that we were there, but the rooms were great, clean, no smokey smell like I’ve read on previous reviews. The continental breakfast was actually really great. Lots of options, and you could make your own fresh waffles if you wanted to. There was a liquor store right out front of the hotel, which was a bonus not having to drive around looking for one. I would absolutely stay here again, as the rooms were clean and the price was right. the only downside, was the pool was closed that weekend for maintenance.

Room Tip: We were on the second floor with the balcony overlooking the pool, we were in rooms right beside each other, so we had the whole balcony to ourselves.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Travelodge for the Bruno Mars concert, June 17, 2014. The hotel was quiet clean, the staff was very welcoming, and even though we arrived 45 minutes before check-in, they allowed us to check into our room without discussion. We asked them if they could arrange a taxi to pick us up that evening and bring us to the concert and they were more than happy to assist us. Once we arrived in our room, we noticed a very strong 'musty' smell. We thought it was because there was no air circulation going in the room, as there was no balcony or windows to open (there was a window, just couldn't open it) when we arrived so we quickly turned on the AC, however the smell still lingered. The carpets were clean and looked new and the room was very clean as well so I'm not sure why there was such a strong 'musty' smell. Other than that our stay was great, bed was comfortable, bathroom was clean, hot shower, clean towels, etc. we didn't let the smell get to us and ruin our stay. The pool looked nice, however we didn't have any time to enjoy it. The following day we ate breakfast in the main lobby of the motel. Hot coffee, juice, bagels, porridge, waffles, cereal, muffins. Everything was great. I would have liked to see some more fruit, but we did arrive at 930 for breakfast when it ended at 10,so there's a possibility they had fruit earlier on. Anyways, I'd recommend this hotel to anyone staying for a night or 2 and are not looking at spending a lot of money. I think our stay for one night was about $74 dollars, taxes in. Would stay here again.

Room smelled like years of old smokers and recently smelled of smoke, when we asked for a non-smoking they said the whole hotel was non smoking and had no other rooms. Widows could not be opened to allow fresh air
