Great hotel in the heart of downtown GR. Walking distance to all of the major event centers. Stayed in the tower where rooms are modern, good sized and clean. Staff is friendly. Lots of onsite amenities.

The historic Pantolind Hotel entrance off Monroe provides the impression of the grand era of the hotel while the modern entrance on Pearl with the off-street valet and bell service provides the efficiency appreciated by travelers. The layout can be a little confusing in transitioning between the historic portion and the modern towers, but you can become accustomed fairly quickly, There are a variety of shops off the main lobby and near some of the numerous first floor meeting rooms. The Wolfgang Puck restaurant is small with great service, and the breakfast nook has the mix of ordering at the counter for the omelet or eggs to be delivered to your table. the fitness center hours begin at 6;00 a.m., which can be challenging for early morning meetings. There are several Precor treadmill, elliptical and rowing machines as well as some hand weights and circuit machines. The pool is undergoing renovations, but it looks very enticing. The hot tub is functioning during renovations. Overall, a great experience from a very quick check-in to an equally quick checkout.

Room tip: The lower levels tend to be in the historic portion; the upper level rooms are in the newer tower.

This is our second stay at this hotel and it is enormous. Things I love; the grandeur but yet it is very relaxing, the valet parking is amazingly efficient, and the skywalk to the Van Andel arena, so no worries about the weather. Last time, we stayed in the original section and this time we are in the tower. Both sections are beautiful. If you want modern decorating the tower is for you. If you want vintage decor (and not in a bad way) and cozy the original section will make you happy. Enjoy your time exploring.

Very productive and convenient at this iconic property. Been here several times before for both business and personal reasons and have always been delighted by the property, the service, the amenities and the location.

This is a lovely hotel with wonderful rooms and pleasant staff. The food was a tad expensive so I ate elsewhere but the breakfast was excellent.

I had a wonderful time here and I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
