Description: Overlooking the brewing facilities, our Taproom allows customers a look into where the beer magic happens. It’s a great testing ground for us, and on any particular day you will find numerous products on draft available only at Founders. The unique offering of specialty beers, the laid back atmosphere, and thrice-weekly live music has helped to make our Taproom a staple in the Grand Rapids community and a destination for travelers.

“Very Busy Brewery”
Reviewed November 2, 2013

The beers are excellent, but the brewery is very busy. We went on a Thursday evening and there were no seats available inside. Fortunately outside there were places to sit and they have a couple of fire pits to stay warm. We weren't able to try the food, but the beer is great. The store was a nice touch and had many great items to purchase. Would love to come again to listen to the live music.

“The coolest Brewery yet”
Reviewed October 23, 2013

We have toured the entire country visiting brew pubs in every town and have a new favorite. Founders has some of the best brews in the country and the atmosphere and hospitality of the Brew pub makes it our top pick of any brewery. The wait people are friendly and always on top of your needs. One was determined to find the perfect beer for my wife and brought us 5 different samples. The food was great and the beer even better.

“Great place -Great Beer ”
Reviewed October 22, 2013 via mobile

We love to visit Founders when we are back in town from Okoboji Iowa. The expansion is awesome - we love the live music - but the best part is of course the BEER! The staff was awesome - friendly and knowledgable. Got my growler...good to go!! We will be back!

“Beer Week - Grand Rapids”
Reviewed October 21, 2013

Went to nearly every establishment to drink beer during beer week! Just a nice way to relax after long days at the convention. Loved that the city had people promoting the event of beer week, and yes, I have to say Grand Rapids had some pretty amazing microbrews!!

“Really? Not sure what the appeal is”
Reviewed October 15, 2013

We visited Founders for a late lunch recently. Although the people could not have been nicer, service was nearly non-existent, the food was average and the meal was exceedingly slow. Parking is a bit of a mystery; the lot is behind the building, but there is no access from the rear so you have to walk all the way around -- and no sidewalks -- to enter. It's a big place and, as other reviews have noted, seating is a free for all. People are not particularly shy about seizing tables and it reminded me of musical chairs. That can be a problem if you, like us, have someone handicapped in your party. Once we were able to get a seat, the process of ordering and getting beverages was quite slow. I was more than a little disappointed that the beer selection was about the same as my local supermarket. I would guess it took us more than half an hour to order food, and another 45 minutes to an hour after ordering to receive it. The restaurant was mostly empty by the time we got food. Portions are large, but our food was no better than average. My sandwich was supposed to have blue cheese on it, and I neither saw nor tasted any. One of the employees told me that the day was not unusually busy. I am in no rush to return.
