Visited Founders brewpub mid afternoon the Saturday of MBG's Winter Beer Festival but before the masses left the ballpark to continue quaffing their thirst downtown.
We nabbed a parking space right in front (yah!!!) but that's about all we got.
Were able to grab two seats at one of the long tables, and I headed to the bar to get a few pints. Good luck to me! Asked if I could order, bartender said yeah, and then never came back! I tried waving my fist o' dollars at anyone that appeared to work there and was completely ignored. The only time we were acknowledged was a less than sincere "thanks for coming in" as we walked out the door without a beer and without a meal. I wanted to reply, "Thanks for ignoring us" but didn't want to be rude.
Also was disappointed in the tap selectin. Thoughts Founders would pull out the stops with the beer celebrations going on this week, but not a breakfast stout or special brew in sight.
Founders, I enjoy your brews here in Illinois, but never again in your brewpub. You need to get some customer friendly staff. At least I didn't have to pay to park for this less than stellar experience.
