We went to Marie Catrib's based on Tripadvisor reviews and were not disappointed. The food was outstanding. The staff was professional, friendly and very helpful. The atmosphere upbeat. The indoor noise level sometimes prevents table conversation. Weather permitting, would recommend an outdoor table. Good choice to have a meal when in Grand Rapids.

We ate here during the transition time from breakfast and lunch. We ordered breakfast and had fresh "juiced" juice that was our own personal selection of fruits and vegetables. The menu is very unique and the food absolutely delicious! I ordered a breakfast bowl and the eggs and sausage was great. We also ordered some French toast which was delightful. We sampled fresh made mozzarella from the deli and enjoyed many treats as well. I would suggest to eat here and to shop at the deli! Check out the menu online. Also the wait for seating is worth it, and there are many "nooks" in which you can sit while you wait, even in the deli area.

Each visit to Grand Rapids MUST include a trip to Marie Catribs. This visit was for breakfast and it was fantastic. My sweet potato/cranberry pancakes were perfect but my husband's stuffed French toast was out of this world: strawberries, bananas, cream cheese with Challah bread. We were lucky to walk right in and be seating without a wait. We are only in GR every other year or so, but include this place on our first day so we are not disappointed. On a previous visit we waited over an hour just for a sandwich which says a lot! Friendly service, fantastic food.

It's too small, too busy, in a not so great neighborhood and slightly pricey for lunch, but the food is great and you'll put up with the rest. It was highly rated on Tripadvisor so we gave it a try. We weren't disappointed. The soups and sandwiches were all very tasty and big portions. My wife and I split a sandwich and each had a cup of soup and that was more than enough for lunch.

I probably eat here once a week for takeout, maybe once every other month or so for eat-in. Before even getting to the food, the service here is enthusiastic and welcoming. If it's busy and you're waiting for a table, they may circulate with a tray of small samples. I occasionally go with the plated meals, but almost always go with sandwiches. I haven't been let down yet.

The number one best sandwich in the world on the planet in Grand Rapids is...the vegan Crussian (pronounced Crushin'). Tofu, cole slaw, sauerkraut, dressing, bread baked in-house. It is also not on the menu, but it's like the In and Out secret menu. But, if meatless isn't your thing, the Trenton and Ham and Cheese (with apples and mustard) are both among the most delicious sandwiches in the entire state.

Eat here, it will make you happy. But, if you don't want to wait, avoid traditionally busy times. The wait for a table for Saturday breakfast can stack up quite a bit.
