We may have hit them on an off night. The service was somewhat slow--for three of us, it took an hour and a half to eat. There is a television in the bar, and it was tuned to the GRCC channel and a yoga class...kind of odd for a restaurant. We arrived at about 7 PM.They seemed to be understaffed until about 8 PM, when suddenly, a few more servers appeared. The wine was very expensive for the small serving per pour...you're much better off getting a bottle than going by the glass. A positive is that you can choose the size of your portions, and an appetizer plus a small plate (which can all be shared around) are plenty for one person. The duck sliders were just OK...not much flavor other than the duck on one of them. They have a "deal" where you can get three courses for $25.00, including a salad, small plate, and dessert. This would be great, if they had a selection of desserts; the night we were there, there was only one option. This really seems odd. You might want to ask about the dessert before you go that route in ordering. The atmosphere is very fun and casual; this could be a great place to go on the spur of the moment.

Great food! We had small plates of ribs and mushroom risotto which was plenty big for the two of us. They have a great German beer on draft the waiter recommended. Only problem we had was took about 1.5 to eat and got there when they opened. We were not in hurray just seemed like understaffed.

Dishes are delicious and served enticingly on the plate. This is an old building with very comfortable furniture, casual atmosphere and a good wine and cocktail selection. If you have the opportunity to attend one of the fall "wine wednesdays", you will drink well selected wine with a story about each, told either by the owner or winery representative.

We experienced the food from Bar Divani at the Wind, Beer and Food festival in Grand Rapids. Bar Divini hosted a table at the event and my wife and I participated. The head chef prepared 3 dishes and the owner paired wines with each dish. The food was decent but I'm not sure if this event provides the best kitchen for them to work. The duck breast wasn't cooked properly as the skin wasn't cooked enough and that made the duck fatty. The sea scallop was wonderful and it was paired with a cauliflower puree. That was a wonderful dish and the wine selected was perfect. The beet salad was very good as well. Overall I would like to try their food inside of their restaurant. I would hope the level of preparation would be better. The various spices and seasonings selected to enhance each dish were very good. The only issue was the preparation of some of the dishes. Some were a bit undercooked (the duck) and some were a bit overcooked (the scallop).

The flatbreads are to die for and the wine list is a lot of fun. Friendly service. The tables and chairs can be uncomfortable. Hi-top tables and/or "cushy" chairs that sit low to the floor and are not a great match for the tables. Great appetizers/snacks. Expensive main courses and somewhat limited menu.
