We made a booking but arrived 40 minutes too early and were immediately given a table. The food was delicious, the vegetables were fresh and I love the fusion of taste the chef was trying to create. The restaurant should be proud that they support the local farmers. The appetizer portion was too big for me.....I had the steamed mussels. I love the way chorizos and fingerling potatoes were added into the mussel dish. The Pork Raviolli was delicious but shame it was drowning in olive oil. The vegetable soup and lamb was a killer too!
Creme brûlée and the gelato + sorbet sampler is to be missed too. If it wasn't because of a full stomach, I would have ordered the chocolate cake.
All in all, we had so much to eat, enough to sink a Viking ship!
Service is good too.

For a mid-size city, Grand Rapids has a vital restaurant scene and Bistro Bell Vita is a proud contributor to that. While our visit was not perfect, we came away pleased and sure of return. We went for Restaurant Week, ready to get a reasonably priced, high-quality meal. We were disappointed by the selection for the event, so we ordered off the regular menu, which is quite eclectic and broad. The food of of excellent quality and of sufficient quantity. Their wine list tends toward high, compared to the prices of the entrees (I feel there ought to be at least 30% on the wines that are the equal to or less than the highest priced entree), but we found a good one that just exceed that rule. Service was a little slow at first but was good from that point on. The ambiance is one of the best we have experienced in GR and the location is right downtown, close to many attractions. I would say it is in the top 10 in GR, all things considered.

My daughter and I went here on a Monday night, just before a concert at the Van Andel. We were seated promptly, the food was delicious. The staff was friendly. Portions were right sized. Prices higher than chain resturants, however worth it. A very short walk to the Van Andel. Paid parking just across from resturant. We parked around 5 and left around 11 and paid $14 to park. Easy to get out and get home.

Excellent fusion between Mediterranean & Italian food. There are only 2 Italian restaurants in downtown Grand Rapids & this one beats Tres Cugini ten fold. Food is always tasty, great wine list, and beverage selection, excellent dessert & great service. Great atmosphere (can be noisy thought) & location. Within walking distance to everything downtown. Is a little pricey but worth it.
