I've had a membership here for years even though I don't live very close. I love walking the paths here though, especially through the swamp & woodland areas. The water features are also a favorite. But if you have kids, you HAVE to check out the children's garden in the summer. It is a sensory explosion and just so fun. The water play area is a map of the Great Lakes & you can have boat races & learn about water currents. Even as an adult, I love spending time in the children's area, exploring the tree house, log cabin, outdoor instruments, labrynth, etc.

First of all, Meiers Gardens is great!!!! So much to see and do, even in winter - indoors and out!
Over the Christmas holidays, they display trees from around the world.
Visit the greenhouse/dessert.
Visit the art gallery for some unusal art/sculptures...inside and out.
Walk under the GIANT horse!
Kids have lots of interactive things to do here, including workshops.
The resaurant/cafeteria is great....good food, good value, good choices.

I can't say enough about this place....worth a visit every time I go to GRR!!!! Enjoy.

Randomly stopped in and seen maybe 75% of the place. It was truly wonderful day with the girlfriend.

With grounds, atria and conservatories, the Miejer Gardens strives to equal gardens like the New York Botanical Gardens in size and range. Still new, the grounds seem a bit spread out, and the sculpture work set in the grounds are likewise widely set. The art works are varied, with a preference for representational pieces. Landscaping tries to set them off well, though the planned water fall is in some ways the most attractive piece in it. A smaller children's garden is as much playspace as garden and attracts adults as well as children. The indoor areas, especially the tropical conservatory are excellent. A walk through a small tropics is during a long winter, and in March they are populated by imported butterflies in coccoons that hatch all month. The most popular time all year, and rightly so.

This is a very beautiful place to visit, esp. in the spring, summer, and fall. The art that is on display is also wonderful.
