Want to learn something new with your kids? Then make a trip to Blandford. They usually have some sort of educational program going on. The animals are well cared for and change as they get new guests. Staff is wonderful and will answer questions no matter how many your kids might have!

One of the places we used to take our children too. Enjoyed the spring events with the maple syrup making. Walked the trails many times and enjoyed the nature center. Many things always happening through out the year so check there website.

A fun, learning experience. Be prepared to do a lot of walking. Although what's open every day from dawn to dusk, admittance is restricted after 4 PM.

So I am going to admit, I grew up a few blocks away from this place and spent half my childhood roaming Blandford Nature Center's Trails and talking to their animals. So I do have a special fondness for Blandford. Google Map this place - it is at a Dead End neighborhood street that might not seem obvious, but there are signs. They have a WONDERFUL trail system & animals outside behind the main building that can be seen from dawn to dusk all for free. (Owls, hawks, some sort of wild cats, turtles, about 10-15 in all.)They have an old school house, blacksmith shop & mercantile (the mercantile is open most days, the others are only open on special occasions)
They have a WONDERFUL trail system with little bridges over streams, be sure to bring your camera. You can also walk one of the trails that will bring you to CA Frost School - Which has a great playground for kids and it isn't a far walk. Their main building is open daily. It has games and nature info, bathrooms and sometimes rescued injured animals. If you live local, join their Facebook page. They do maple sugar festivals, war reenactments, pioneer days, and all sorts of fun stuff.
