My family and I recently visited this restaurant in September. Although we did not eat at the restaurant there was still a lot to see. There is a market that has more samples of cherry related products then you would believe. Next to the market they had a Cherry Wine and Cherry Pop store were you could get samples of their products. Needless to say the kids loved getting samples of the pop.
Glen Arbor is what most little towns wish they were…loads of shops and small local restaurants all in walking distance. I would highly suggest if you are in the area that you visit this location and explore the rest of Glen Arbor.

Everything's coming up cherries! The cherry chicken salad on cherry bread is divine. Pair that with cherry lemonade and a cherry chocolate chunk cookie and you're in (cherry) heaven!

This is a very casual, fun cafe. Everything on the menu has wonderful Michigan cherries in it. The chicken, cherry, salad wrap is excellent and easily shared by two. The cherry turnovers have the lightest, flakiest crust and delicious cherry filling. They even have cherry flavored decaf coffee by the cup. Most coffee shops do not serve flavored decafs. Eat outdoors on the patio in nice weather and indoors on inclement weather days. Also, stop in at their sales store where you can sample all of the many Cherry Republic products. There is a lovely flower garden on the grounds as well as a separate cherry beverage store that even sells adult cherry flavored beverages.

We stopped here on our way through town for the cherry pie. Our only disappointment was that we did not eat lunch here first! We liked it so much, we rode our bike and extra 15 miles to have lunch and a second piece of pie the next day. It did not disappoint. And there literally are cherries in everything. We had the meatloaf with dried cherries and barbecued cherry sauce. Cherry pie, cherry ice cream, cherry salad. Even my water came with cherries! Put this on your do not miss list!

Cherry Republic is a wonderful place, so much fun to visit I would rate the place a 5 overall. There is a tasting room for both wine and soda pop, all with cherry in them. The lady working there was friendly, helpful, and generous with the tastings. The store, full of wonderful and enticing items, all having to do with cherries, is great! It was hard to decide what to bring home, with all the wonderful tastes and textures. The chocolate covered cherries are heavenly.

That being said, we chose to eat lunch at their cafe. The food overall was very good. I would rate my turkey wrap (on special, with cherry guacamole) as a 5. My husband had the 3-meatloaf sandwich, which he gave a 4. We also sampled the cherry potato salad. My critique of the salad would be that they need to cook their potatoes longer...not a fan of hard potato cubes. Portions were huge. We had planned to get pie for dessert, but were way too full.

You order your food at a counter, and they bring it to your table. The staff members working here were very friendly and nice. I suggest they get rid of the couch, which is not very clean and doesn't present well when eating. It is very rustic, and could stand a little tender loving care. There is a large outdoor eating space, but we ate inside because of inclement weather. Don't let all this stop you from eating here, though, would indeed return and sample other offerings. Definitely visit the tasting room and store!
