better than average. Perch dinner was absolutely great. Good prices and it is just what it says it is, a tavern. Do not expect fine dining!

“Everyone raves about Art's, but I don't get why”
Reviewed August 23, 2013

This place is a bit on the grubby side inside, the streetside seating is better. The food is bar food. Burgers, fries, fried fish. An OK meal, but nothing to write home about.

“YIKES...”
Reviewed August 22, 2013 via mobile

I have been to Arts several times, however, this time around was not a good one. First my guests & I sat for 15 minutes before anyone approached our table. Then we waited another 15 to order; within this half an hour, we asked 3 different servers to please take our order; ALL 3 tried very unprofessionally to brush us off to other servers (mind you the place was practically empty). Our lunch was ok, but not great. My mixed greens salad was only iceberg
& the white fish burger or pâté or whatever it is was bland & dry. Last but not least, please,
please can someone, anyone clean the bathrooms!! They smell awful & look nasty. Cant imagine what the kitchen looks like..& whatever you do, DONT look up cause the dust on the fans & flags will literally kill your
appetite.. Do yourself a favor,
Art & give Robert Irvine a call. He's the only one that can save this place.

“Average but what can you do.”
Reviewed August 22, 2013

We were planning to spend our day at Sleeping Bear Dunes, and had driven up from Traverse City and spent time at the Visitor's Center that morning. We wanted to grab something to eat before starting our scenic tour, etc. and didn't see anything in Empire so we kept on going to Glen Arbor. My teenage kids just wanted something simple like burgers, so we ended up at Art's Place. Even though it was after 1pm, there was a long line to get in - luckily for us several parties had given up so we moved up the line quickly. The menu is average, but everything seems to be extra - like you can get a burger but fries are extra? Then as we sat waiting for our food, we were looking at the hundreds of school pennants that line the walls and ceilings. I almost wished we hadn't, as the ones on the ceiling in particular were so coated in dust they were disgusting! Really an appetite killer. We got three burgers, and a basket of tots (a basket was cheaper than 3 orders of fries), and three coke's and paid over $40 for lunch. Oh, and did I mention that you have to pay in cash? Very important to note that they don't take credit. I would not come here again, too expensive and dirty.
