“Tons of potential”
Reviewed July 4, 2013

I was at the resort with my mom on June 30-July 3, 2013. We arrived around 2pm which was very fortunate. The sign on the door says the office closes at 4 or 6 that day. (I can't remember which). When the office closes, there is NO ONE there. We were never told when we made our reservation that we had to be there by a patricular time. Anyway, when we checked in, we were told that the restaurant will not be open until the end of the month and the pool was also closed. Huge bummer since I was there with my elderly mom and we didn't not have any plans to ever leave the resort while we were there. I bet there were only 3-4 others staying at the resort. It was a ghost town. We eneded up getting a night for free to make up for the lack of amenities. We were told that the owner died and a new management company had just taken over. I sure hope they can keep the place up. It is truly a gem. I will be back and give it 1 more chance; only after the restaurant and pool are operating.

If you are going to stay here then you need to know that this is a hunting resort and that it is in the woods and sits on a part of the Secord river. If you stay here rent a cabin which is beautiful and then you have waterfront living fro the time you are there.

The cabins are cozy with a fireplace they have a nice hot tub in some cabin and a covered front porch that faces the water.

This a 4 diamond resort and you simply can not beat the peace and quiet of river life. There are boats and pontoons to rent and Secord lake is an all sports lake.

They have different types of rooms. We stayed in a motel room with my sister, who rented the room next to us. Rooms are very, very small. The staff was okay, really didnt make us feel welcome. I think a small 'resort' would go out of their way to make sure you feel welcome. This is not the case. We were there at the end of the season and maybe they were just tired. I can't imagine staying longer than one night and honestly, I wouldn't go back. We travel to Gladwin often and we can get the same type of room at half the cost with better service at a 'smaller' motel.

I had the time of my life there. The food the service was top notch. You could not ask for anything better. I went on a deer hunt and seen the biggest bucks of my life. What a great job they do with that ranch. Its something you have to see for yourself. Words cant begin to explain how incrediable this place is.
Mona, Avery, Leory and the rest of the staff thanks for making a dream come true.

Room Tip: All the room are clean and cozy. It just depends on what you want.

They have a wide variety of lodging choices from "classic" log cabins, motel rooms, and upscale river and forest offerings. We had our usual motel room which was average. I have to say that the food we enjoyed was very well done. Our group dined in the "Bear Den" room Friday nite, and had our group gathering in their Hall on Saturday, and the breakfast buffet (with omelet station) Sunday morning. The food quality was well above what you might expect here in the outlands. We were disapointed that the pool/hot tub was closed due to equipment problems.

We held our corporate strategic meeting at the Lost Arrow resort. It is a great place to get away. We had 32 people at the resort. The facilities were great and the service was the best we have ever had for one of these corporate functions, We had several meals at the resort and all were great. The wild game dinner was fantastic! For team building we did sporting clay's with several people that had never even handled a gun, the staff was fantastic and safety was job one! We had several people from outside the USA and they really impressed with the beauty of the Lost Arrow Resort.

We went to lost arrow years ago for a get-away night and stayed in a motel room (before the little cabins and cottages) and had a wonderful time. We did not use any of the resturant or front desk.

We went back this year and stayed in the Riverfront cabin and we loved the view, the deck on the river, the wi-fi, the fireplace, and the cabin it self was great,

I agree the kitchen was not appropriate for a long stay but for our one night we were fine with the fridge. The gal at the front desk was great, she seemed to be doing everything as she was in the resturant for dinner on Friday. We had the fish for 2 and basically it could have been be better. It looked to us that Pizza might have been the way to go, lots of people had pizza on the outdoor deck.. The breakfast we skipped to down the road to have a full breakfast and continue out trip.

We plan on going back in August because we are going on a tubing trip in Sterling and want a nice place and quiet. And that it is, quiet, nothing to do....just make sure you have all the water, beer, pop and snacks when you get there.......

We think the place is beautiful and ok for couples or just 1 couple for a enjoyable get-away.

Room Tip: Riverfront cablins during the week price is acceptable but pricing on weekends is out of sight.
