A friend that lives in Gaylord took me here when I visited in early July. What a great place the city of Gaylord provides for their residents and visitors alike. It was very hot the day we came here and we only saw one beautiful spotted elk. But that made us happy. I am sure better viewing times would be morning and evening.
I just happened to find that someone has written a short article about this on TA, so here is the link and it summarizes it well.
There is plenty of parking and a playground nearby.
