I can overlook coming to a resort and getting a nice view of the parking lot, but other considerations: The slopes open at 10; housekeeping knocks on the door at 8:30 a.m. -- and the vacuuming in the next room is like you're right there with it. Every footstep in the room above can be heard, including the pounding of little feet running. The construction of the building must be cardboard as the noise from above and in the hallway makes every guest sound like they're right in your room. Bouncy beds, linens like sandpaper. Outdated bath facilities. Wow. All this for resort prices. And the folks in the ski shop were not friendly. The staff at the Lodge and the ski rental staff get kudos by contrast for their friendliness, efficiency, and relaxed manners. But would not recommend this.

We do apologize and recognize your concerns of the noise level. I will be addressing the Housekeeping staff about knocking on doors to early in the morning. We do hope that the rest of your trip went well with all of the winter activities we offer here at Treetops.
Your comments and suggestions are greatly appreciated as it lets us know where our problem areas are so that we can address them accordingly.

Wasn't crazy about some reviews here but booked anyway. Large clean Lodge room overlooking the woods near the spa. Food and service was good. They do need a remodel but everything was clean and very happy with service. Kid friendly. Would go back.

Room Tip: Lodge facing the woods.

The Lodge is old and needs updating. Rooms are spacious and clean. Indoor pool very small, but has fun outdoor swimarea and hot tub. Outdoor property is beautiful. Bring your own ice skates. Had decent dinner at sports bar. Coffee at the Lodge is from a machine and terrible! Front desk charges $1 for a packet of hot cocoa

We are excited to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us! We are getting skates that guests can rent for $5 while using our ice rink, we do apologize that they weren’t here when you visited us. Also we are starting to update all buildings on property to enhance our guest experience. Thanks again for enjoying Treetops and taking part in our winter activities!

Spent two nights in Chalet room at Treetops Resort. Wonderful space. LOTS of room. Had a room with kitchenette. Three of us in room and had loads of space and was nice we make our own meals which saved of lots. Yes the decor is a bit dated but it didn't detract from the experience. Only suggestion i would make would be to have more seating available. Room had a love seat and the table only had two chairs. Beds were very comfortable.

We are happy to hear that your stay with us exceeded our expectations with the comforts of a kitchenette and plenty of space for the three in your party. Thanks for the suggestion of more seating in the room. It is something we will definitely look into as an added value to our guests. We look forward to serving you again in the future!

Stayed with a groupon two years in a row. The rooms in the Inn are old and outdated, not very comfortable. The next year we upgraded to the lodge, which was nicer but we were charged $60 to upgrade, which was not worth it. We also saw a group that got upgraded for FREE! Although the groupon was cheap, you get what you pay for and I would not call it a "deal". Maybe to stay in the lodge it would be a deal, but the Inn is like a cheap motel. We were told that we could check it early, but it was after 4PM when our room was ready. The food and drinks are decent, but overpriced. Definitely resort prices with motel quality.

I've always been told that Treetops is a top property, so when I saw the amount of negative reviews on line recently, I was concerned. We stayed at the Lodge the weekend of 11/15/13. I wanted to make sure to get on here and comment, regardless of my experience. I realize a lot of people won't say anything unless it's a bad experience. Here are some of the points I've read about on tripadvisor.com and my experience:

Cleanliness: Everything was clean.
Maintenance: There are definitely some things that could be made better. The pool is stained (probably from hard water) and needs some tile work. The carpet in the hallway needs to be tightened up. The exit door to the east end is rusty on the bottom and could use some TLC.
Staff: Our interaction with them was great. They were pleasant and knowledgeable.
Bathroom: Everything was cleaned and well stocked. The tub could be difficult to get in and out of if you're older or very young. Nevertheless, it was AWESOME...very big and jets! Nice! :) and the water pressure was fine.
Beds: The website said we would have a "Lodge Queen" suite. Well, those are queen size beds. Those are full size beds.
Other: Wifi was fine. People complain about the TVs, but that's not why we chose Treetops. We chose it because of the amenities and reputation. We were hoping for snow, but didn't have any. They have been making it, though. Also, people complain about things that are out of the control of the staff...accidents and other things happen. Sure there were some leaves in the pool, but it's OUTSIDE. The staff can't stay out there all day and scoop leaves or "dead frogs" out of the pool. Let the staff know and I'm willing to bet that they'll be on it.

Overall, our stay was relaxing and fun. For the price, you can stay somewhere else and get basic amenities, but you won't have the spa, restaurants, etc, at your beck and call. The rooms certainly aren't perfect, but that's why it's not $300 a night in the off-season. If they were, you and I probably won't be staying there on a whim for $109 per night.
