“Rooms are getting very tired”
Reviewed October 10, 2013

Great location, food was good but the rooms are getting tired.
Time for some renovations. Gardens needed some major weeding also.
Golf course was fun!
Could also use a business centre where you can use a computer if need be or make copies etc.
Most staff was helpful (especially manager) and pleasant but bartender in proshop ignored us completely while we sat at the bar and had a bite and a drink- zero conversation. Should have been a "hi, where are you from?" at least.

Room Tip: Rooms shown on the website are not the standard rooms. We did not get offered an upgrade when mentio...

A group of 6 of us went here for guys golf weekend. The staff here are excellent. Super friendly and very accomodating. You can tell they really appreciate the business. They have 2 awesome golf courses that are both beautiful and challenging. The restaurant there was amazing. Our deal included pro shop discounts and free breakfasts. The pro shop deals were unbeatable. The rooms were spacious and clean.

Visited the restaurant with family, service OK food nothing exciting or special. Was a bit surprised as this was the resorts main dining venue. The waitress did her best taking care of us. Price was fair for the food ordered.

My husband and I stayed in the newly refurbished Hilltop Lodge and really enjoyed it. The room was very well appointed and the building is very uniquely laid out with a large central common area and bar which could be amazing if a large group were to rent out the entire building (8 rooms).

The restaurant was great for both dinner and breakfast. The view is outstanding and the golf course (which we explored after-hours on some carts with a couple of locals) was utterly amazing. My husband was salivating the entire time but our time there did not allow for any rounds of golf this time---must return!

What an amazing experience we had on the slopes. Stayed in hilltop and ate at the new Stubli restaurant. What a great concept.... Everything was top notch. Truly outstanding wine list and the river cabin and logmark are not to be missed. So cozy with all the fireplaces everywhere. We had a special dinner on new years eve at the Pontresina which was fantastic. The giant snowflakes outside the window completed the experience for us.

Our family has been going to Otsego Resort for several years to go skiing. This year there is new ownership and the changes are well appreciated: there is a new general manager, a new chef and new staff to go along with the new ownership. The resort is reminiscent of an alpine resort in Austria and is very cozy. The skiing is good and very family friendly. The food in the Duck Blind Grill is wonderful. We would not hesitate to recommend this resort to anyone looking for a taste of the alps in Michigan!

I stayed here on a company retreat 35 years ago and swore I'd never stay here again! The room I had then was very dirty and looked like it had been closed up for months and no one had bothered to clean it before we arrived. Glad to say that this stay in September 2012 with a group was much better. We had a large room with a small balcony, which was nice. There was a frig & microwave in the room, as well as a small table and chairs. Lighting was okay. Bathroom was adequate, but had the same issue figuring out the shower as a previous reviewer. Fortunately, I'm married to an engineer who could figure it out. We were in White Birch, which had a small flight of stairs to the 1st floor and a larger flight of stairs to the 2nd floor. Glad we were assigned the 1st floor, but would really be a problem if stairs were an issue. Lodges are scattered around the property. Our group banquet was in the Conference Center. Service was slow, some people were just getting their meal as others were waiting for dessert. Food was okay, but nothing to write home about. Cash bar prices were high. We did not eat on our own in the restaurant, but chose to go to town. Would highly recommend Diana's Delights on Main Street for Breakfast.

Would feel better about staying here again if going with a group. If returning to the area on our own, we'd stay in a hotel.

Room Tip: Be sure to ask about stairs when booking your room.
