This was one of our highlights of our stay! The food was awesome. My daughter is a very picky eater and she loved the chicken. It may seem pricey but it is worth every penny!

Michigan on Main is a re-purposed dining area at the Bavarian Inn Restaurant. It used to be the Roof Garten. Décor changes are subtle, but the menu is totally different. The bar area has been expanded and now features high top tables and stools. The food and drinks menu is totally new and features Michigan inspired food and Michigan wines and beer. We stopped for lunch and were totally impressed. I thoroughly enjoyed the Chicken & Dumpling soup. It was a broth based soup (as opposed to cream based) with lots of grilled chicken, herbs, and home-made dumplings. One of the best soups I’ve ever had – anywhere! $5, big bowl, what-a-deal! I also had half of a Mighty Mac sandwich. (Unless you haven’t eaten in days, just get the half sandwich!). Its hickory smoked ham, bacon, cheddar cheese, apple slices, mixed greens, and honey mustard ale sauce served on a (sub-style) pretzel bun. What a flavorful combination. Heaven on a plate. My wife had the fish tacos which were mini-tacos with Great Lakes fish, corn & bean salsa, sour cream, tomatoes, pickled red onions, and Verde sauce. The presentation was extremely artistic. My wife said they tasted wonderful – but wouldn’t share a taste. Wanted it all to herself. Hmm. Bottomline, next time you’re in Frankenmuth, you have to try Michigan on Main just inside the main entrance to the Bavarian Inn Restaurant. Michigan on Main is truly a refreshing and trend forward experience.

We saw a sign in the restaurnt when we visited in January about this princess day. So daughter & granddaughter & I went. We had a grand time. The event included a horse & carriage ride, time with the disney princesses, making a wand, lunch & a small program. My granddaughter is into the whole Disney princess theme & when they were recently at Disney the line was over an hour to get near a princess so she was thrilled with this being able to walk up and have your picture taken. This was well planned, thou a bit crowded in the front lobby area with everyone taking pictures & crowded around the princesses at once.

We got the family meals that you can get, and we could barely eat half of it! The whole town of Frankenmuth is an adorable setting, and it doesn't stop once you get to the Bavarian - the way that the staff dresses makes you feel like you are straight up in Germany. The food was delicious and there was even an accordian player to entertain us. It was a very neat experience to be able to have. The ice cream at the end was definitely the cherry on top.
This place is BEAUTIFUL.
There are even characters that come out of the roof to tell stories HOW COOL?!
We will definitely be back.

Standard German food for lunch. Nice beer sampler. Our waitress was nice and patient with our three kids. Really cute inside.
