“An incredible restaurant”
Reviewed August 4, 2013

Not only did we love the ambiance (the building alone is beautiful), but the food was incredible! They have an interesting array of beers. The price seemed a little high but we got an incredible amount of food! After I ordered off the main menu, the waiter brought out 5 small dishes he called an "appetizer" plus two kinds of bread: white and nut. With the entrée, he brought out 5 bigger dishes of side dishes. The wait staff was very helpful and friendly.

“average German food”
Reviewed August 3, 2013

After living in Germany for two years in the late 60's and recently traveling through our favorite cities in Germany, we knew that if we ever happened to be in Michigan, we'd make a point to visit Frankenmuth. We recently had that experience and based on TA reviews, we had lunch at the Bavarian Inn. We decided on a late lunch to avoid the crowds, but we still had a 18 min. wait at 2PM on a Thursday. We both "had" to have a German beer - did not disappoint; A bowl of bread was brought to the table - simple white bread and stollen with rasberry jam. Other than the stollen, not quite German. Our lunch entrees were a disappointment; we ordered two different German Classic combinations. The sausages were simply broiled (not grilled) and not hot (none of the food was hot - simply luke warm when brought to the table); the buttered noddles had no butter; the chicken was dry; the pork tough, etc. We were glad to have the German experience (the town and the Inn itself) but the food was disappointing.

Family style chicken dinner. Great food, a bit overpriced, but all the food was awesome, and I suppose the price of eating out has gone up over the years. Be prepared to spend at the gift shop on the 1st floor, especially if you have a girl...the Lee Middleton doll nursery is wonderful!! $105 to have a 'nurse' give your special girl an adopted new baby boy/girl of her choosing. They do have many gifts to choose from.

“Chicken Dinner,,,need i say More?”
Reviewed August 1, 2013

The atmosphere is an experience. This is a place everyone should experience at least once . We went early in the afternoon and did not have to wait. The family style chicken dinner was wonderful. We had more than enough to eat. It can be costly, but budget for that before you decide to go.

“Great Food and Great Atmosphere!”
Reviewed July 30, 2013

This place is great! The food was excellent, the atmosphere was excellent, and it was not highly priced food as you might see in specialty restaurants. Biggest tip I can offer is call ahead for reservations as they get busy very fast and you may have to wait a long time for a table.
