Took our family - kids ages almost 5 and 8 year to Zehnders. We did a 2 night stay with breakfast and dinner package. It was March Break for Ontario school kids. The resort was busy but not crazy.

Check in was fast and friendly. We had 2nd floor room at the back of the building. The sliding doors overlooked the new aqua construction. Noise was not an issue. Stairs and elevators were conveniently located. The regular swimming pool was close by.
2 regular beds - both comfy - decent linens. Bathroom and little kitchen nook. Well appointed and clean.

The waterpark itself was fine. Our kids really enjoyed it. Our 8 year old loved the fact she could ride the 2 big slides by herself - no line ups. She loved the lily pads and the basket ball nets in the pools. Our almost 5 year old loved the waterpark too as he could go down size appropriates slides, swim in 2 feet of water, hop in a hot tub and play in a splash pad - all by himself. Lots of friendly life guards around. The park was very clean and well maintained.

Our package included buffet breakfast at Elf Hollow - it was fine - standard fare - scrambled eggs/sausage/bacon/toast/fruit/granola etc. Package included a pizza and drink dinner at Elf Hollow - it was pretty good and convenient.

We also dined at Zehnders and had the family chicken dinner - service and food was excellent.

The kids spent a little time at the arcade - this is an area that could use a little beefing up with newer games and such.

The waterpark as it stands today is just fine for kids who are ages 10 and under. If your kids are older or if you have taken your kids to Great Wolf, Fallsview or a Kalahari type waterpark - I would wait till Zehnders get their new waterpark completed before coming here. From the looks of the drawings the new watepark will be awesome.

All in it cost us $600 for 3 days and 2 nights - accommodations and meals - we felt this was good value for our money.

Only 10 minutes to Birch Run outlet. Only a minute or so from downtown Frankenmuth.

We will go back to Zehnders once they get the new waterpark up and running - hopefully the pricing of packages and rooms will not go up to crazy Great Wolf levels.

We stayed march break 2014. We had a fantastic stay. We had two children with us( 4,2). They were able to do everything in the waterpark. We found all of the staff helpful and friendly. My daughter got lost heading up the stairs(went one flight too many) and a passing by hotel worker stopped to help.
Our only complaint was that the hot tub in the tower pool was unusable when the jets were turned on. The chlorine level was so high you couldn't breathe. I mentioned this to the front desk twice and it was not resolved. Although I recommend this pool area if you want a break from the waterpark which can become humid and loud. It is a well designed pool area.
Our housekeeper Myra was great. My daughter was sick the fist night and she immediately attended to our room. We found the rooms slightly dated but very clean. The elevator is brutally slow- take the stairs it's much faster. ( they are not steep and an easy climb)
Even with the hotel at full capacity we didn't find the park overly crowded and were still able to enjoy all the aspects of the waterpark.
The breakfast buffet was delicious, well stocked and had something for everyone. Although my husband and I enjoyed the chicken dinner it is not for young kids. The restaurant is formal and the food selection is not something that appeals to young kids. We would skip it next time. Room service was well priced, prompt and delicious!
We are looking forward to returning next march when the renovations are complete!

It's great. Really great. We've been there 3 years in a row now and will go back in 2015. The water park is excellent, and there are plans to make it even better in 2014 so we're excited. What really makes this place special is the people. I don't know if it's just how people are in Frankenmuth or a result of the Zehnder's management, but I suspect it's a combination of the two. The staff are ALWAYS friendly. Always. Especially at the front desk and water park. We've been to water parks before with unfriendly staff and it really can make or break a place. The staff at Zehnder's is very attentive without seeming (in any way) like park police. They are always smiling and seem like they want the kids to have fun. Here's an example from last weekend. I took my son who is nearly 5 up the big waterside for the first time. I didn't know the rule about child in lap needs to have a lifejacket. The staff person, in a very friendly way, said something like "I'm sorry, but children riding in laps need to wear life-jackets." then proceeded to help me put it on while pausing the line. It only took about 15 seconds but the staff person was very friendly and smiling the whole time. Other water parks we've been to we would have gotten an annoyed staff person just pointing to the life jacket saying "he has to wear a life jacket" then ignoring us. It's those kinds of little things that we notice and love about Zehnder's. It is a kids place after all. Even at its most crowded on a Saturday afternoon in the winter, there is still lots of room to play, never more than a 2-minute line on the big slides, and an open few spots in the hot tub. Saturday night movie in the lobby was great too. Take the kids and book a suite in the newer side of the hotel and you won't be sorry.

Room Tip: Book the newer part of the hotel with the suites. We've stayed in the older part and the room ar...

Such a fun water park, especially if you have younger children. You can let them out of your site without having to worry about there safety. With all the staff watching you can relax for 5 minutes knowing they are safe. The rooms are clean and the staff are friendly. Looking forward to coming back to see the expansion complete.

Took my kids for a quick getaway, and we had a great time. The kids loved all of the slides, the service was excellent (the kids even commented that the lifeguards were really nice), and the room was clean and in good condition. Highly recommend it for kids of all ages.

I'm having fun with the kids, but honestly the regular pool area and bathrooms needs more cleaning. I had issues with a lifeguard at the waterpark screaming at myself and my 4 year old about him "standing" on the lilly pads. When he wasn't screaming when teenagers were intentionally trying to hit people with the basketballs in the pool. Also had issues with them picking up my neatly rolled towel with my room key inside & throwing it in their bin. The girl made me stand in the freezing cold lobby to get a new one made. It's a birthday tradition to visit 3 times a year or more. Were going to be starting tradition some where else.
