“A Great Stay for the Family”
Reviewed July 15, 2012

We decided to stay here since we had our nieces with us, we were not disappointed. This hotel complete with indoor water park in clean, quiet and 100% family oriented. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff friendly and accomodating. The kids (and us older kids) loved the water park, it is fun, clean and safe for all ages. This place could definetely give Great Wolf Lodge a run for it's money.

Since we live less than an hour from the Wisconsin Dells, we really didn't think the water park at Zehnders would be very interesting to our 7-year-old daughter. We were pleasantly wrong... it was a very nice hotel and water park. There were four water slides (one for small kids, one for intermediate, two for experienced). There was a bucket drop, lily-pad walk-over, basketball area and lazy river. We had a great time in all of them, and the variety was appreciated.
The hotel room was clean, quiet and had a refrigerator, microwave and 'bar' area where you could set up to color or eat a snack. The hotel is conveniently located next to Bronner's, so taking a break from the water park to shop and walk around was easy. There was also a shuttle to take us downtown to Zehnder's Restaurant and the store fronts on Main Street. Frankenmuth was the highlight of our Michigan vacation (which started in the UP, went down to Detroit, and over to Kalamazoo) - and Zehnders made the Frankenmuth experience wonderful!

I take my kids to Zenders every year and it seems to get better each time. The rooms were clean and the waterpark was fun and sanitary! The only problem I had was that the room seemed alittle stuffy. Will definitly go there again and again!

Room Tip: Ask for a private balcony facing Bronners! Its really nice at night!

Pleasantly surprised with cafe food next to front lobby. Good pizza, good boneless wings, breakfast buffet was very good. No complaints about pool except it closed at 9pm. We are on vacation who throws in the towel 9pm. Game room with tickets open of course later than pool. Cost us $70 for lava lamp & one pencil. Seen better prizes at other places. Room was nice. Balcony with view of bronner's Christmas store was nice and decorated nicely & well lite. Don't understand the wooden decorated vallance above sliding glass door. Hangs low on side where you walk in and out & everyone hit there head/face at least twice in the two days we were there. We laughed & someone said "why did they put that there" everytime it happened but other may not find it funny. Missed the free coffee we had at last place we were. Like to have coffee at night and wind down. Only one bag in room. Shower head had very little pressure. Would stay again

The hotel was clean and great for the kids. It had all your basics in the the room like a fridge and microwave. The beds were comfortable and the LCD TV was nice. Depending where your room is located it's sort of a maze down the hall to get to the room and the hallways can be noisy during the evening with kids running around(hotel has a 11pm noise policy). The doors seem pretty thin because you can hear everything.
The waterpark is quite good considering the size, it reminded me of a small version on "Great Wolf Lodge" with only a couple of waterslides, but still a lazy river and dumping bucket. Not very much room to walk around or sit, but quite noisy with all the kiddies running around. You can enjoy a regular (tower) pool at the other end of the hotel where it's much more peaceful.
Yes, I would go back because it's all about the kids, when they are happy, the parents are happy...

We stayed one night at Zehnder's and did not use the water park. We did look in at the park and the kids looked like they were having fun, but it appeared quite small. Our room was very spacious and clean and the beds were very comfortable - I slept great! We stayed on the first level, back by the tower pool, so it was nice and quiet, too. Our breakfast the next morning was abundant, but average, however they did offer gourmet coffee drinks for an additional charge. I'd easily stay there again.

We went a week ago and it was absolutely disgusting. The water was murky and yellowish green and it was obvious that people were peeing and had not showered prior to getting into the water. I saw one teenager's face/nose filled with slimy boogers/snots and he took his hand and wiped it and put his hand in the water. The workers were not concerned about maintaining appropriate chlorine/pH levels. As far as the slides, very fun. But people there came in packs of 10-20 and monopolized the lazy river and the basketball area. The worker at the top of the slide was actually just sitting there and didn't help my son and I get into the tube appropriately. The people that went there were very dirty and you are getting into a public toilet. I was having fun until I started dry heaving when seeing that kid wipe his snots into the water.
I had to yell at two teenage couples where the girls were wearing bikinis and had their legs wrapped around their zit faced boyfriends making out with them in front of us for an hour an a half. I kept thinking, they'll leave soon and I finally had enough of the white trash behavior in a public pool full of kids, including my son. None of the workers said anything so I yelled at them to go do that privately explaining this was a pool for children and they were setting a bad example for my son and these kids, and to go in front of their parents and act like this. They left immediately. It was fun, but needs more motivated workers and rules enforced to maintain a clean pool/clean behavior. Won't be returning.
