From the moment we crossed the covered bridge we were welcomed with beautiful grounds surrounding the Hotel. The lobby was beautifully decorated and festive. The rooms were clean and extreamly comfortable. The pool aeas for the kids was clean and well maintained, and the game area was more than we expected.

If I was forced to say something bad about our stay, the only thing I could think of is that our rooms didn't have microwaves. Other than that a perfect stay.

Dear Shana C.,

Thank you for choosing the Bavarian Inn Lodge and your kind words. It sounds like your family had a wonderful time. I'm sorry that the lack of a microwave was a disappointment. We have been in operation for 25 years now at the Lodge and of course we do hear this from time to time. Currently the electrical demand on 360 guestsrooms with 360 microwaves requires significant electrical overhauls. Also a remodeling of all rooms to accommodate the microwave in a safe manner with thousands of young children in-house each week. We continue to study this situation. Thank you so much for your candor.

We hope you will return again soon!

Sincerely,

Jim Engel, C.O.O.

We spent part of a week at the Lodge so that I could attend my conference. The family came along and enjoyed the amenities. We loved that each pool offered something different, we could move from swimming to playing mini-golf while our suits dried out a bit. Then we could play the token arcade games. It was fun to be together in a family-friendly environment. The shuttle to the Bavarian Restaurant was a fun ride for my son. The Lodge is a quick, easy walk from the downtown area as well.

Room Tip: We requested the river view room. I loved to watch the paddleboat and tour boats go by. Can't...

Dear Leah,

Thank you so much for being both part of a conference and bringing your family along for some quality time together. Groups have shared with us for years, that they return to the Lodge because the attraction of Frankenmuth and the Bavarian Inn provides a 10 - 20% increase in attendance. No spouse programs are required as the community fulfills that need in many ways. Glad your son loved the shuttle. We never thought of that as a "fun ride" but I do agree, crossing the wooden covered bridge in that big shuttle can be fun! We appreciate your confidence.

Sincerely,

Jim Engel, C.O.O.

We ended our vacation at the Bavarian Inn with an upgrade to the King/Jacuzzi room. We always enjoy going to the Bavarian Inn because of the distance from our home. The smiles you always get and the staff is never afraid to talk to you. They never seem to be in a hurry, but always please to travellers that stay there. The Inn is always clean, comfortable bed, great food with great sevice. It truly was a great experience, one you should try. The landscaping is also wonderful to view. Lynda and Ken

Dear Lynda and Ken,

Thank you for staying with us during your vacation earlier this month! So happy you made us part of your time away. Your kind words are appreciated. We try to allow our staff time to speak with and visit with our guests while they perform their duties. As if we are hosting guests in our home... a large 360 room home that is! We look forward to your return!

My Daughter's Wedding Reception was held at the Bavarian Inn in Frankenmuth, MI. This experience far exceeded my expectations. The property is beautiful and the service is outstanding. We had unique centerpieces for the tables which required some assembly. The staff at the Inn set everything up for us, lit all the candles and served a fabulous meal. The owner of the property came out and introduced herself and even helped my daughter through the food line. The meal was better than home made, it was homemade without any of the work on our part. The Assigned Host (Patrick) and his staff were attentive and helpful through out the entire evening. If you want to have a fabulous experience at a reasonable price with the best service possible, this is the place to go!

Dear Chuck H,

Thank you for allowing the Lodge to be a part of your daughter and now new son's wedding! Weddings are one of the most joyous of events we love to plan and serve! So happy that all was enjoyed by your group and Judy Zehnder, the owner so enjoys leading the team during large events such as yours. If she is in town, she takes great effort to be engaging with all of our guests. That is one benefit that a large corporate owned hotel cannot do. She is proud to have 9 family members actively involved in senior management with 3 generations working side-by-side as owners. We all try to focus as being one large family (with 900 employees) to serve you and our other special guests. We hope many of your family may enjoy returning in the years to come!

Yours in service.

Sincerely,

Jim Engel, C.O.O.

This past week, my husband and I brought our 8 and 10 year old grandsons to the Bavarian Inn for a couple of fun days - and, that, we had. The boys made good use of the pools, but, of course,
they loved the Arcade the very best. In two days, they managed to gather 7800 tickets to spend
at the Redemption Center - they loved every minute. In between, we played Miniature Golf - again, loved every minute. I feel you have so much to offer "the family". We have made a reservation for next August in the Family Suite again.

One more little item, the food in the Rathskeller was exceptionally delicious.

Room Tip: Always get a room that fits your needs so you can enjoy it.

Dear Ann F.,

Wow, 7,800 tickets for two boys is awesome. I do know that we go thru over 10 million tickets each year in our redemption area so they can accumulate quite quickly! So happy to hear you created great memories with your grandchildren here and that we are now a tradition for you and they together! God Bless until you next return!

We went as a family reunion and we realy enjoyed our stay. The food was excellent and the shopping for gifts was great. They even had a bathing suit for my wife. It was centrally located although you could have stayed in the complex and shopped there. The number of pools meant no crowding. We didn't have enough time for the river cruise this time, but we will take it next time we are at the Inn. We will be scheduling our yearly reunion to stay here for 3 to 4 days at least to take atvantage of everything. Being a stones throw from Brenner's Christmas store was a nice bonus for my wife.

My husband and I stayed in one of the family suites in this hotel, the room was $250.00 a night. With the price in mind we assumed that the room would be very nice, however it was anything but.
The furniture in the room was old and very unattractive as were the linens and bedspreads.
I pulled out the pull out sofa bed and found crumbs and kleenex underneath the bed.
We called down to reception on our first evening to check out the next day (we had booked two nights).
Honestly, we stayed at a Motel 6 in Santa Fe that was nicer then this place.

Dear Laura C.,

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us at the Lodge. I am so very sorry that you did not enjoy your Family Suite. There certainly is never an acceptable excuse for lack of cleanliness. I am very sorry that there was debris under the sofa sleeper. Robin Pease, our Executive Housekeeper would like to apologize for the circumstance and she is reviewing the routine cleaning schedule with the ground level guestroom team as we schedule special cleaning to get under every dresser, nightstand and sofa sleeper as a double-check. Somehow this sofa was obviously neglected.

You had provided enough details in your post that I was able to identify that you stayed in room 1038. I viewed that room personally today. I believe that most of your concern truly links to your feeling of our bavarian theme. The two dressers in the room are less than one year old, the mattresses are also new. The carpeting and furnishings are not stained, discolored faded. I would agree that I think the fabric style of the sofa sleeper is one of the next to be replaced. I am sorry that the room was a disappointment to you. If you would ever return from Canada and you had a room that was disappointing, please do not hesitate to contact our staff immediately to be moved or to remedy the situation. Thank you for sharing.

Sincerely,

Jim Engel, C.O.O.
