Great burger, bunch of interesting beers on tap, friendly waitress and some unusual photos on the walls. Cool place after court in Flint.

Parking was an issue but we got inside. Cute, we thought, small, intimate, friendly, told how to get the parking legally.. Ordered the original Torch Burger and a half-and-half onion rings and french fries. Menu advises the wait could be 10 min.. But we're almost alone and we're watching the cook really processing orders.. Take outs we think.. Then others begin filtering in.. and we are hungry. Waitress is superb and drinks arrive.. Then the place starts filling w/people who ordered early and w/take outs and we are discouraged...and hungry.. Drinks are refilled and we watch the procession of orders go to a group table and be set for people arriving.. and others arrive and are waited on and drinks refilled and... it is so orderly and organized and friendly and... our order arrives.. 2 original Torch Burgers and a 1/2 & 1/2.. onion rings and fries.. Well worth the wait and wonderful... Great beef, good condiments.. generous serving and what a gracious waitress.. All the customers seemed very pleased. The large group was seated and a family was at another tale for 6 and .... This was a visit worth making again... The alley is very urban and attractive and clean.. There were stores nearby which were not open on a weekday afternoon.. a gallery.. a bookstore..
Flint has a terrible rep but what we saw of downtown in the afternoon was encouraging and this place is part of a soul which can attract more spirit.. I would highly recommend this place..

The Torch is the type of place that Guy Fieri would visit and feature on his TV show. It is a small restaurant/bar with the best burgers in town. Owners are usually on site and service is fast and friendly. Beer is served by the bottle, glass, half pitcher and pitcher. Keno is available. It is Flint’s version of “Cheers”.
