“A drive-in that doesn't take you back to the fifties”
Reviewed November 27, 2013

I am sorry not to write a good review because I love going to the drive-in, sitting under the stars, and I believe that the US 23 Drive-in is the only drive-in theater in our area. I remember the US 23 Drive-in Theater with fondness and it was with great anticipation that we went again this last summer after a couple of years absence. The changes in the way the theater was run was evident as soon as we went entered. Where once there was a large lot for parking the space was now divided into spaces for three screens rather than the two that had been there on our last visit. The speakers had been removed and you were required to either use your car radio or rent something. The marquee listed two children's movies which looked as though they were on one screen but it turned out they were on two separate screens, and to add to the ambiance there were porta potties lined up by the bathrooms.

Even though we were certainly not impressed by the changes we hoped for the best with the movie. That was short lived when a van pulled up in front of us and one child crawled up on the roof and others went in and out with the interior light staying on for minutes at a time. there are rules on this but no one from the theater did anything. We left after the first show very disappointed. We did have popcorn which was cold by the time we got it to our car, can't say anything for the other food.
Upon leaving we had problems with our lights dimming, seems we ran our battery down listening to the one movie.
I have enjoyed and recommended US 23 Drive-in to friends in the past and hope that US 23 will make changes to bring it back to where it was. I will certainly not go back again as it is now. A better choice in my mind would be to go to Grand Blanc to the Trillium Theaters.

“Good clean fun but don't forget the OFF!”
Reviewed August 11, 2013 via mobile

With the brand new screens you can really see the movies well for a drive in. Tips that I've learned:
*Pack a portable radio if you want to sit on lawn chairs. (They also rent them $2)
*OFF is essential as there are about a billion mosquitos.
*Bring your own snacks and save a fortune!
Even though this is in flint, I feel really safe here. We've been going for years and I've never seen anyone cause any sort of trouble. $8 a person is a bit steep but well worth the drive in experience. That also covers the admission for 2 movies. Great fun for date night or time for the whole family. We love it!

“The Drive-In”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

Remember the times when you could go and see the show just for couples, families, or even by yourself. Well there still is a place just like what you remember. Take advantage of what it has for the movies, take popcorn, water, sit and enjoy!

“A Step Back in Time”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

This drive in theater is a step back to a quieter time. Three large screens, great concession stand and first run movies are well worth the time and minimal price and all within the comfort of your own car.

US-23 Drive-In Theater is clean, safe, fun and, best of all, a very RETRO experience. Your small children will love the playground area. The concession stand and restrooms are very clean. Bring your radio and lawn chairs. Don't forget your bug spray and a frisbee for some pre-movie action!
