If you are in the Flint area and you are looking for a nice way to spend a couple of hours this Farmer's market is worth a visit. A nice variety of vendors. The products change with the seasons. For breakfast or lunch, Steady Eddie's is a tasty and reasonable option. Check the market's schedule before you go because they are not open every day.

This is hands down the BEST farmer's market that I have been to. There is so much fresh and local produce. Great butcher, cheese, and bakery too.

Remember these three days (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday). These are the days to visit the Flint Farmer's Market. The experience is very different on the weekdays as opposed to going on Saturday.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, it is easy to park and leisurely stroll about the market without the huge crowds that come on Saturdays.

Saturdays, the market has themes and special events that draw huge crowds, and sometimes it is hard to find a parking spot (during the warm summer months).

The Flint Farmer's Market has two areas: The indoor market and the outdoor vendor booths.

The indoor market (permanent shops and booths) has a vide variety of things to buy. Not just food, you can buy items like used books, jewelry, art, rocks and minerals, craft items, educational toys and more. Of course, there are a lot of food items, fresh produce from local farms, meats and cheeses, wines and goodies. There are a few food-service places here as well, ranging from ice cream, donuts, sandwiches and soups, a deli, a smoothie bar and some others.

The Eastern market in Detroit is much bigger and The Ann Arbor Market at Kerrytown is similar in some ways, different in other ways and about equal to this market in offerings and variety.

If you've never been to the Flint Farmer's Market, (and it's Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday), you should visit. This place is one of Flint's rare five-star attractions, and is tops in my personal list of "must see" places in Flint.

Bakery at the end if the building has great Ham and cheese croissants. Reasonable produce prices and good variety.

There's much to cringe about Flint but there are jewels and gems and the Farm Market is one. Though open year around, the farm season is when it bustles. Locavores know where to buy and they're here. Need to know how to cook an unfamiliar product? Ask the question aloud and a conversation will start involving other vendors and other customers. Colorful and fresh displays and competitive prices will keep us coming back, The cheese merchant, the bread store, the turkey products store... So much. There are sometimes, esp. on Saturdays, local churches and groups w/food tents and a seating area and sometimes entertainment and events. There's a great eatery on the 2nd floor and the permanent vendors are worth a walkabout.
