I visited this resturant on a Saturday in January. The Courtland Center mall is 80 to 90% vacant, however, this restaurant is worth visiting even if there isn't much shopping available in the mall.
The lunch menu (available till 3:00pm) has some good prices. Most lunch menu meals are in the $6 price range and a good deal. The food itself is average to slightly better than average. "Very Good" would be pushing the limit, but the amount of cheese on some items is plentiful and makes for a tasty dish.
The food here is more of the "authentic Mexican" variety and not as much "Tex-Mex" style.
The Mexican rice is excellent and the salsa with the complimentary chips is better than at most Mexican places in Genesee county. The tamales are better than average.
The portion sizes are slightly smaller than most Mexican places in the area (per dish, not item).
The restaurant interior has a festive look. The place has hand-crafted Mexican style booths and tables.
Most, if not all of the employees speak mexican. Another sign that this place is authentic.
Do not rely on the current Tripadvisor map (as of Jan. 2014) This map will lead you to the wrong location. I suggest you Google or Bing maps "Courtland Center, Burton, Mi." to find the right location.
