We went to this restaurant after being recommended by locals. The place as a very special and welcoming ambiance. The menu is short (which is good) and we selected the to taste a verity of dishes. We were served a large plate in the center of the table, and each one got a stack of Ethiopian bread. The plate included about 12 different delicious samples, vegetarian and meat, all completely new to me so I can't really describe them. However the taste was overwhelming and excellent. You could ask for a refill for any dish so there is no way you will leave hungry.
Excellent Ethiopian coffee was served at the end!
Highly recommended.

Try Blue Nile for a different experience. We were offered a choice of the Ethiopian dinner or the Vegetarian dinner. The Ethiopian dinner is the Vegetarian dinner without meat. We ordered the Ethiopian dinner, presented on a round platter that contains small mounds of cooked cabbage chunks, spicy lentils, cold lentils, cooked dry yellow peas, mildly spiced lentils, a potato, green bean, carrot medley, spicy beef and two kinds of tender chicken. On the side are folded rounds of white bread and wheat bread, although the bread is quite soft and malleable—very much like crepes.

We were given hot towels to wash our hands. The meal is enjoyed by tearing off bits of bread to scoop up the mounds of vegetables and meat. We could have requested seconds of any of the items on the platter but the plate for two is rather filling, as you might imagine, because of the bread.

Blue Nile has a pleasant and exotic ambiance. The wood floors gleam. I can’t recall the last time I saw a gleaming floor. This floor was working on glisten. The tables and booths are nicely spaced to allow for a private dining experience. My view to the front door, almost suggested something vintage Up North, in a lovely way.

The service is polite and not overly rushed. Blue Nile is not the place to grab a quick bite before a show. I tried an Ethiopian coffee that was robust and pleasant.

This is a relatively pricey dinner. The Ethiopian for two with 3 glasses of wine and a cup of coffee came to just over 75.00 before tip. The wine is poured from a bottle at the table and the portions are generous. Despite the cost, the meal is assuredly a different and delightful event you are sure to enjoy.

I love going with a few people, that way you get both the veggie and meat feast. I love the beef and spicy chicken, the red lentil and greens are yummy as well. A salad is a nice add-on, but it is extra. They do have some forks if you feel odd eating with your fingers, i do. Forget the sponge bread, you will get stuff yourself with it and it expands in your stomach. Eat more with your fork in hand.

Somehow Ethiopia and food don't seem to go together but the Blue Nile is a placed not to be missed. There are only two things on the menu, one option for vegetarians and one for non-vegetarians. This is an experience to be embraced. A tray of food is brought to the table to be shared. On the tray, each entree is in a small mound. You may have 14 or so mounds on the tray. Grab a piece of rice bread (similar to a pita) and snatch a small amount. It goes right into your mouth. Very, very good food. I have eaten similar food in Egypt but I have never been to Ethiopia. Be sure to have some tea. Outstanding!
