Description: Salt of the Earth- rustic American eatery and bakery is located in the heart of southwest Michigan farm and orchard country. We cook from scratch to create our entrees, shared plates, wood oven fired pizzas, creative soups, fresh salads, desserts, and artisan breads. Ingredients are locally sourced, and organic whenever possible. Our full service bar proudly serves Michigan craft beers, hard ciders, spirits, and wines alongside other domestic and international products. Our craft cocktail menu features updated classics and creative house specialties. We are also an entertainment destination presenting the finest roots musicians on the scene at our weekly house concerts. We are proud to offer a high quality experience in a relaxed and casual atmosphere and hope to serve you soon. Join us for Sunday Brunch every Sunday May-November. Cheers!

It is easy to miss this fabulous restaurant in the small town of Fennville, but it is so worth a side trip from Saugatuck-Douglas. We had the Hangar Steak with superb au gratin potatoes and Braised Pork Shoulder with petite egg noodles. Dessert was a collection of chocolate, caramel vanilla, and butterscotch puddings, which were luscious. Servings were generous, texture very good, and flavors were fabulous. The bread made in house is really great: we had to be careful not to fill up on it. The focus on local sourcing, the slow food movement, and great service make Salt of the Earth a gem. Dinner only.

The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is okay...but the food is too expensive. Granted it is tasty but you can get better priced and tastier food from The Blue Goose.....even Hop In is better than this place. To blame the areas ingredients, is just a shame. Not one I'll go back too.

Great staff! Our waitress was so accommodating and helpful. Amazing food, and loved the fact that all was locally sourced! Delicious cocktails and interesting wine list.
We can not wait to come back!

The menu selections are somewhat limited due to local ingredients, but they do what they do very well. Service was wonderful.
I recommend avoiding arriving between 6:30-7:30pm as they get quite busy.

One of the best restaurants I ever eaten at. My husband and I were in town for a weekend getaway at Castle in the Country B&B (very nice) and came here for dinner. Definitely a unique menu, but every single thing we ate was absolutely delicious. From the homemade lemonade, to the Cream of Broccoli soup with toasted pumpkin seeds to our delicious entrees of scallops and hangar steak (strange name, but absolutely worth it), along with potatoes au gratin and home fries AND ketchup, this place was just amazing. Lets not forget the fresh daily homemade bread too, which we purchased several loaves of for our trip back home. Our only regret was having no room for dessert as we clearly could have ordered one of everything. We come to Michigan a few times a year and will absolutely make this our restaurant of choice for every visit. Well worth the drive and by the way, great customer service too!!
