We go here when in the Douglas-Saugatuck area for the music and food. The quality of music on a Saturday night is amazing. This is a friendly place and you feel at home here. Good perch and really good deserts.

I had read all the reviews on the "What Not Inn," which refers to all the "nicknacks" they used to sell back in the "30's, that the Perch was the best. I had the Perch dinner which did not disappoint. Lightly breaded fish was near perfect. We had a waiter mishap that slightly delayed our dinner, making the Perch just a touch off "hot!" The salad was first rate and the house wine was very good. But, it was the white coconut cake that took the night! Wow! Was it good. My wife and I were enjoying our desert when a couple next to us ordered the chocolate coconut cake, which was not on the menu, but was up on the "Specials Board" at the bar! It looked so good, we ordered one "to go" and had it the next day. And, you guessed it. The chocolate coconut cake was even better! Make sure you read the "Specials Board" before you sit down .

A local corner bar that's somewhat dingy, worn and stale inside. It's redeeming quality is that the perch, pollack and salmon are so darn good. Good music on the weekends but they close at 10pm which is way too early for this type of establishment. Looks like a place the locals hang out.

The food is okay, the servers are over-worked, but it's just a "corner" bar with a limited menu. Very crowded on Thursday nights because of the special. Have been there on a Saturday night when there's music(?) and you can't hear yourself talking.
