Time and again the food was delicious and plentiful. The service was outstanding. We especially appreciated our server, George. We are always welcomed by the friendly staff. Very enjoyable experience for our family. We are looking forward to a bridal shower and a wedding rehearsal dinner at New Hellas.

Had a belated birthday lunch. Food was deicious - grilled octopus appetizer, chicken lemonata and perch with potatoes & green beans. Service was phenomenal - Carolyn was great. She sang a great rendition of Happy Birthday too! I will definitely be back again - so many dishes sounded good.

The service was awful, we sat for over 20 minutes for the waitress to come to our table just to take our drink order and then we did not see here for another 15 minutes. There was a table of Greek people next to us that the entire wait staff was fawning over and it seemed to us that they really didn't care about our table. We will never be going back to this restaurant again.

We visited the restaurant to celebrate my Greek father-in-laws 88th birthday. We had been regulars at Hellas when it was located in Greektown many years ago, having celebrated Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day and many birthday parties along the way. Many wonderful memories of the great food, ambiance and hospitality!

This was our first visit to the New Hellas, and we were excited to check it out as it included some of the "old gang" from the Greektown days. We weren't quite sure what to expect, considering the mixed reviews that we read. I would have to dispute many of those reviews. To the six of us who left the restaurant last night,we can honestly say that the food was great, the service was attentive and the hospitality was heartwarming.

First, my father-in-law, who introduced me to Hellas in Greektown some 35 years ago is suffering from dementia. We let the manager and wait staff know this as soon as we entered the restaurant, just so there would not be any embarrassing moments. They could not have been more sympathetic or attentive, joking with him and making sure he was having a good time. When the manager, Tony, who remembered my father-in-law from the Greektown days, found out it was his birthday, he graciously sent over a birthday cake, and everyone sang "Happy Birthday" to him. This kindness and attentiveness was heartwarming and GREATLY appreciated!

Second, the food was as we remembered it. Large portions (none of us could finish our meals) of wonderful and tasty Greek delicacies ranging from the saganaki, greek sausage, grilled octopus, chopped salad, avgolemeno soup, chicken shish kebab, lamb, galaktoboureko, pineapple cake, etc. Simply delicious, just like the old days!!! It brought back wonderful memories!!!

As for the ambiance, the new space is wonderfully decorated and spacious. Although it may not have the same feel as the original Greektown location, it has great potential. We miss Greektown, as it used to be 35 years ago, with all of the other Greek restaurants and shops along Monroe. Too bad that it has changed so dramatically. However, visiting the New Hellas brought back those wonderful memories without missing a beat. We will definitely be back for many more visits.

We had a family Christmas party here with almost 30 people. All I can say is everybody loved it. We ordered a big assortment of food, mostly family-style (saganaki, salad, chicken, lamb, salmon, spinach pie) and everything was delicious. Not a single complaint from anyone in our group, which is unusual. Also, the service was great. We had 2 servers plus a busboy, and we kept them busy by constantly asking for this or that, and they were on the ball. Management was also very attentive. I've had lunch here a couple of times as well and enjoyed it. Good job Hellas!
