Traveling from the east coast to west coast we ended up needing to stay in Escanaba. The hotel website looked interesting from a historical perspective. The owners were very polite and helpful in booking the room. Because we arrived on a Sunday night a key was left for us out front in a mailbox, which was convenient. The front desk area and hallways weren't very clean and smelled musty, but the room was fine and the bathroom was nice. Cable TV didn't work and there is no internet access. The hotel is known for ghosts and I guess if you're into that kind of stuff it would be interesting. The area of town looked pretty sketchy. Our room was a little odd in that there was a very large ceiling to floor window that looked out into the hallway - it was covered with a light curtain.
