“Not-to-be-missed beauty!”
Reviewed July 13, 2013

We've seen many beautiful places over the years traveling in "God's Country," but none beats the vista at Stop 9 along the Pierce Hocking Scenic Trail. The whole trail is definitely a "must-see" in this National Lakeshore (but don't miss the Visitor Center beforehand - along with a stop at the Grocer's Daughter for some great chocolate!!).

“Great Hicking, Swimming and Views”
Reviewed July 11, 2013

There are many great spots to hike. Check out Empire Bluffs at sun set. Pierce Stocking drive offers great views as well as places to have a picnic. The swimming is awesome either in the big lake or one of the many inland lakes including North Bar, South Bar, Glen lakes. Color season is also great in the fall. I was born in this area and make the trek back 2 or 3 times a year.

Exciting experience at the sand dunes of Sleeping Bear national lakeshore. Dune climb was a real fun, specially for the kids.

“Rated as one of the Top Ten Sights in the US to Visit in 2012”
Reviewed July 10, 2013

This attraction was rated by Conde Naste Travel Magazine as one of the top ten sights in the USA for 2012. The activities you choose depend on the amount of exercise you desire. The views are incredible!!! Options for this sight include hiking trails as well as very easy picnic sites for eating a picnic lunch. If you are 62 or older, a permit for all State parks in the US can be purchased for $10.00 which includes a lifetime entry..

“Good Views, Strenuous Climb”
Reviewed July 9, 2013

Get ready to feel it. A climb up these soft sanded dunes is a great lower body / cardio workout and the views are spectacular. Parking was $10 but you get to park right next to the dunes. Stay as long as you want.

Tip- dont steal a lunch tray during your layover and expect the tray to slide down the dunes with you on it. It didnt work for me.
