“Worth the drive, MUST TRY!”
Reviewed March 25, 2013

We had been told by many to check Pearl's out, and had been through that area many times easily forgetting about it. Finally last summer with our one year old we remembered and took the plunge. Amazing! The food had no problem living up to all of the great reviews we had from friends. We were a bit worried that our son may have an issue finding something suitable to eat, but give him one of their fantastic corn muffins and he was good to go! Cant wait to go back in a month or so, it is calling our names!

“Oh my gosh what an amazing experience”
Reviewed March 22, 2013

We stumbled upon this restaurant in Elk Rapids based on a tip from our hotel in Traverse City and I'm so glad we did. From the moment we entered the restaurant we knew the experience was going to be as authentic as it gets being miles from the Bayou itself! Authentic decor, friendly atmosphere, amazing service by people who know this food! Love the choices of mild to spicy entrees and loved the selection of hot sauces! We had to try so many. Loved the cocktails and wanted the evening to last. Excellent fried chicken! Yummy creole! Back in the days I use to live with a room mate from Baton Rouge and she loved to cook. This reminded me fondly of her! We will be back for more and have told everyone we know who frequents TC area about this lovely spot! Thank you so much!

“Best restaurant for miles around!”
Reviewed March 8, 2013

Great New Orleans style menu, food is terrific. Bartenders and staff are very friendly and there is a buzz in the air! We eat here everytime we come within 50 miles of the place!

“Poor service”
Reviewed February 10, 2013

They were not very busy yet service from our server seemed slow. Prices were exceeding the value. pricing appears to be focused more towards, you can only get this here, so you have to pay more for it. it feels like you are in the middle of a desert before you can get a beverage refill.

“Appetizers amazing- jambalia not so much”
Reviewed January 18, 2013

I have been here a few times now. The appetizers never disappoint. Lie the grits and greens, oysters Rockefeller, BBQ shrimp, corn bread is amazing. I loves the étouffée. It was so good. The steak was ok- nothing special. The jambalia was terrible. Chicken was served on the bone, so was flavorless other than the tomato paste that was on top. It claims to be the spiciest dish on the menu, when I found it quite bland and used half a bottle of hot sauce on it to add flavor. I have had this dish at many different places and was shocked at the flavor of theirs. I have also tried the brisket. It's pretty good also. The corn chowder is amazing. The sweet potato pie and banana fosters was to die for. Highly recommend it. Just not the jambalia.
