“Wonderful Stay in East Lansing”
Reviewed May 17, 2008

We had a wonderful time in East Lansing and our stay at the Wild Goose was perfect.

We stayed in the Indian Summer room, which is in the back building called the Gosling. The tub was at least six feel long with warm air jets all around the base ... heavenly. The walk-in shower was also wonderful with two large shower heads. We enjoyed having a DVD player in the flat-screen TV, and even ran the gas fireplace for a while. We had access to a refrigerator right outside of our room.

Parking is in a city lot right next door and the B&B provides your with validation stickers to get in and out of the lot.

Breakfasts were delicious and the inn keeper was very helpful in directing us to galleries (Mackeral Sky is a must stop). We had muffins, fresh fruit and a choice of eggs any style, omelets or french toast. We would definately recommend this B&B.

Rooms are breathtaking! I stayed in Indian Summer which had its own jacuzzi for 2. I went for a romantic get-away with my girlfriend. She wished that we would have gone there immediately at check-in instead of wait until later that evening! The Bed specifically was incredible, you will have an excellent night's sleep. Breakfast was wonderful--delicious omelettes when I was there. Innkeeper was very friendly. It is a nice place, and you will have your privacy if need be. Can't wait to go again!

  • Liked — The bed was incredible!!
  • Disliked — That I did not check in immediately at 4pm!

We came to East Lansing for a football game and we had a great time.

THE INN

Parking was very convient in a lot adjacent to the hotel - so no hassle there.

There are two main houses connected by a deck area that has lounge chairs and a gas firepit. The common rooms in the main house are decorated with Mission style furniture.

THE ROOMS

We stayed in the Autumn Arbor room which was very cool. The jacuzzi which we never got to try out was tucked into it's own space off the bedroom.

The bathroom was very nice and decorated with upscale tile and fixtures.

BREAKFAST

Wonderful - really what you would expect at a B&B. Friut, muffins and choice of main dish - our choice was French Toast or Omlette with Ham, Cheese, Onion & Pepper.

Both days we really didn't eat lunch because breakfast was so good and filling.

LOCATION

For us the location was great. On the main downtown strip and basically right across the street from the MSU campus. In previous reviews I noticed that people mentioned some noise from students - but we were there on a football game weekend and didn't hear a thing.

Overall this was a great stay for us. We loved the inn and the innkeeper - Don't hesitate to stay here.

My fiance surprised me for my birthday and booked a room at the Wild Goose Inn. The owner was very pleasant and greeted us upon our arrival.

We stayed in the Gosling building in the room called Autumn Arbor. It was fabulous & perfect for a fall visit. The bed is made of branches and the ceiling has a great plaster effect that makes you feel like you are sleeping under a tree in autumn. Beautiful linens on the bed, too. The room also had a wonderful fireplace in it. The jacuzzi was so relaxing and the shower was awesome - 2 spouts!

On Sunday morning we were served a fabulous breakfast. We had fresh fruit, juice, coffee, warm coffee cake and omlettes. YUM! There was another breakfast option too - I think French Toast.

This was a romantic getaway. I highly recommend this property to Spartan alumni or anyone else scheduled to be in the Lansing area. We loved it!

My husband and I stayed at the Wild Goose Inn for a short Valentine's Day getaway. We chose the Inn because we are MSU Alumni and have heard all great reviews from other friends who have stayed here.

Location: The Wild Goose Inn is situated in the heart of East Lansing, very close to central campus. It was very convenient for us to walk out to dinner and for drinks to our old favorite bars!

Room: We stayed in the Summer Safari. There were many small touches to make this room extra inviting and comfortable: many unique lights to dim or make brighter, fresh flowers, a very comfortable bed with a pillowtop mattress, and candles all around the room to light if desired...and, of course, as stated on the room description there was also a fireplace and a 2 person jucuzzi. I was pleasantly surprised with the bathroom. The bathroom had a huge countertop with two sinks and skylights. Nice samples of lotion, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner were included for us. The shower was also very nice: decorated with stone tiles, a large size (had a bench), and a large skylight provided sunlight.

Breakfast: Breakfast was delicious. We started out with coffee, fresh fruit, and tasty muffins. I choose an omlet and my husband french toast for our main course. Both selections were very tasty!

I love trip advisor and was so surprised to see only one review for the Wild Goose Inn. We definitely plan to return sometime and higly recommend it to others!

I've stayed at Wild Goose Inn three times in the past year while on business in Lansing. It's not only more comfortable than local hotels but cheaper. I've stayed in both of the buildings in three different rooms (the rooms on the second floors) and they are all great. There are pictures on their website so I won't describe the rooms, but suffice to say they are beautifully and creatively decorated.

The B&B is one block away from the Michigan State campus, so there are a lot of food options within a two block radius as well as a pharmacy, Barnes&Noble, three ice cream parlors, etc. Parking is easy because there is a parking lot right next door and it's free for guests.

Al, the owner, has put a lot of work and care into his B&B and it shows. He is a great guy, too. The breakfasts are excellent. I highly recommend Wild Goose.
