There are certain things that make MSU a great place. Sure, "Sparty" is a cool guy and gets around a lot, but if you visit here a few times, somebody will eventually suggest going to the MSU dairy store. Take them up on it!

Green ice cream is a theme here. (if you ask why, it will mark you as an out-of-state visitor, or someone from another Big 10 school that is making a joke.) You don't have to buy green ice cream. However, I've never had anything but really good ice cream here.

I wouldn't have found this place without MSU students filling me in. It has the best ice cream around! It's made by students on campus and they staff the store as well. It is cheap, super fresh and creamy. The favors they come up with are all unique and are fun just to read through.

This is a really popular place and even in the winter is open and has lines. So, give yourself some extra time just in case. Some days I walk right up to the counter and others the line snakes through the store, out the door and down the hall. The line has always moved fast though.

They do sell half gallons, and gallons of their ice cream as well as various cheese products. I sometimes pick up a package of cheese curds and they are delish! They do sell other light snacks and soft drinks, although I haven't tried any.

It's always great to get back to the Dairy Store. The ice cream is hard to beat. I've had New Englanders tell me that the ice cream here beats Ben & Jerry's .

The cheese is fantastic. Let the cheese warm for about 20 minutes before eating in order to get the best taste. Dagano and Sharp Cheddar are my favorites. They even have chocolate cheese.

Also a good place to get Spartan keychains, zipper pulls and temporary tattoos for a reasonable price. If you can't make it to the real Dairy Store in Anthony Hall, there is a small store in the MSU Union.

Always great flavors available. Not your average ice cream shop.Ice Cream and cheeses are made on the premises by MSU students. Beats out any competition in the area always.
Grilled cheese sandwiches and soups are also available. Ice cream and different cheeses are available for purchase to take home.
Seating is limited. Too bad there isn't more use of the available outside area to the West of the building easily accessed. They could put more table and tables with umbrellas there. This is the only down fall.
Be prepared for long lines during the Spring and Summer, but their ice cream is definitely worth the wait. Our daughter and son-in-laws wedding reception featured a dessert bar complete with MSU Dairy ice cream and toppings. That's true love!

We went to the MSU Dairy Store while in town for a hockey tournament. I had a green and white swirl that tasted like birthday cake ice cream. The kids had something hockey-related with small chocolate pucks in it. It was good, and I'd definitely go there again. It's not "WOW!" though, like The Creamery at Penn State. Overall, if you're looking for ice cream this is the place to go.
