I stayed here in October 2006, in a studio room. It was a large room with king size bed, fairly large bathroom, a tv with vcr and a cd player, and a mini kitchen stocked with utensils, plates, pots/pans. The hotel is located on the far south edge of MSU's campus in a quiet location. Guests have access to the MSU athletic club for a small fee, and it's a nice facility. The hotel also offers videos for checkout. Unlike Residence Inn, however, no breakfast is offered. The toiletries consisted of shampoo and soap - bring everything else from home.

However... I stayed on a major football weekend when the hotel was sold out, and learned how thin the walls are. I woke up several times during the night due to noise from rowdy Ohio State fans returning from partying and hooting in the halls.

I'd stay at the hotel again, but NOT when the hotel is at capacity and not on a major sports weekend.

Candlewood Suites are generally for longer term stayers but, like me, who only stayed a few days, they do have short term stays too. They are meant to be places where you can almost set up home away from home!

As a long stay facility, it is not a hotel where you have room-service every day, but every 2-3 days. No problem!

I stayed in a one bedroom suite which was quite large. The main living area had couch, lazy boy recliner, tv, VCR (they also have a range of free movies to watch at reception), alarm clock CD, A/C unit and a large desk / breakfast bar which separated the living area from the kitchen. The kitchen had large refrigerator/freezer with ice maker, dishwasher, microwave, electric stove, iron etc.

In the main area was also a large closet, bathroom (which was also large but quite bland) access. The bedroom was a separate room (not a studio suite) with a good bed, closet, tv.

As part of the deal, you get can do your laundry *free* using the guest washers and driers. These are in the same room as the small gym they have.

Also is *free* internet access which I used in my stay (by a RJ45 network cable - not wireless).

To save you going out for a snack to eat, they have the "Candlewood Cupboard". This is basically a room which you access using your key with things like cereals, chips, popcorn, noodles, icecream, pies, drinks, pizza etc which you can eat in your room. It's open 24hrs - not staffed though because it's on the "honor system" where you record what you have taken (prices on the shelf) and they add it to your account. It was a great system.

In addition, you could also use some of MSUs facilities like the golf course, gym etc but I didn't investigate this further....

Overall, a very comfortable stay and somewhere I would return too and could see myself being able to stay their long term.

Very comfortable suite within close proximity to the MSU campus. Room was quite large, with king size bed, large bath, tv/vcr/cd player, and a full kitchen which was great! They even had all of the kitchen utensils, plates, pots/pans to cook a 6 course meal.Room rate was very reasonable, around $69/night. Very quiet, with access to the MSU athletic club included. I'd stay there again.

I rented a one-bedroom suite for 4 months ... it was very comfortable. Amenities such as high-speed Internet, cupboard, and freee laudry were icing on the cake. My only complaint was the termperature control .... it was hard to regulate.
