If you're coming to Drummond Island, you know you're not coming for a high-end, fancy-pants resort experience, but rather to enjoy everything this wonderful, northern Michigan island has to offer in the way of outdoor adventure.

We came up over Memorial Day and were pleasantly surprised to find that the island was NOT busy at all. We were afraid of big crowds, but it must've been too early for the ORVs and 4-wheeler crowd. We stayed at the Drummond Island Hotel and it was just perfect for us. The rooms are pretty plain, with the usual hotel furniture, but they were extremely clean and the staff was very helpful. Can I be honest and say the thing I enjoyed the most is that they give you a $10/night discount if you pay cash. Oh heck yeah! They have bikes to rent for only $5 for 4 hours. We arrived very late, after driving from the lower peninsula, but they had left a note on the door for us and the key in the lock. The area is very quiet and has a small fire-ring in the back that we didn't use, but looks like it'd be a nice post-beach or trail place to sit and relax.

Skeeters have been horrible this year so we put tons of skeeter spray on and lightly explored some of the island trails. Food in the area is a little expensive, but that's to be expected. We will definitely be back. Very relaxing and low key.

Room Tip: Each room seems like it'd be a good one. We had one in the back near the parking lot, so if there are lots of 4-wheeler folks up, it could get loud.

Nice place. Staff were friendly and able to give us info on places to got to ATV and to eat.Room and gournds were clean and easy to get into and out of with our trailer. Room had a king size bed and everything nearby that you would want. Nice hot shower after a day playing in the mud.

Very good experience. The rooms were very large and clean. Full size coffee pot was a great bonus. Our cell phones did not have good reception but there was a phone available for no charge. Exceptional. I would give this hotel a higher than 5 if I could.

Room Tip: Any room would be fine. Quiet area. Close to a good restaurant.

Thank you for your wonderful review.
We have been told by AT&T that we will have a larger tower installed this summer. Hopefully this will allow Drummond to be more cell phone friendly.
We are please you enjoyed your stay,

This hotel accommodated my two dogs which was great. Not exactly a 'hotel' more of a motel but very comfortable. We had a king size bed which was very comfortable, and in room coffee. Bathroom was large and the shower had plenty of pressure and hot water. We didn't need a handicapped room but that is what ours was. If that is required for a guest it is nice to know one is available. i wish there were 2 bath towels per person but other than that everything was perfect. Price was $59. Can't beat it

This would be a great place to stay if had other things to do on the Island like ORV, snowmobile etc. There is no view to speak of since it's in the middle of the island. The rooms are big enough and clean. This is a hotel in the middle of nowhere so expectations should be in context!

We advertise our Hotel as follows: Drummond Island Hotel sits on a large, peaceful, hardwood forested lot on the Townline Road - just a stones' throw north of the main hub of activity on the Island. This central location offers convenient access to many of the Island's marinas, beaches, ORV and snowmobile trails. Local dining, shopping, banking and laundry facilities are all just an easy stroll away.
You are correct in stating that there is no waterview since we are centrally located.
Drummond Island is known for it's outdoor activities and some enjoy the fact that we seem to be in the middle of nowhere leaving many places to explore. Bring a jeep, quad, or other off road vehicle to enjoy the many trails on the Island. Bring or rent a boat to enjoy Drummond for the water. You long for outdoor fun? Drummond has it!
