“Downtown Detroit's Best”
Reviewed November 22, 2013

Who say's there are no great Hotels downtown Detroit? Well they have not stayed at The Book. On my arrival I was greeted by a friendly doorman and the fully restored front of this classic Detroit building. The lobby was nice, modern and the check in was smooth and friendly. My room was big and comfortable as with most Westin's, but they kept the charm of the old building. Bed was so comfortable, I may have slept in a little later then I intended. I was in town to visit some relatives and see a Red Wings game. I found I was only a couple minutes from the Joe, with a nice ride on the Detroit People Mover. The restaurants were great, lobby bar nice. Just a great Hotel right in the heart of the city, walk to most places downtown. Best... right across the street to the 2 best Coney shops in the country.

Room Tip: Park your own car and save a bit of cash.

This is a great hotel, in many ways very similar to the Westin Melbourne, which is one if my favorite hotels. I was in a deluxe premium room, which was modern, immaculate, very spacious, well appointed, quiet and comfortable with a view of Downtown Detroit, the Christmas tree and even a little Canada to the left. Even though I was here for work for a few days I caught up on some much needed sleep. The service from staff in the hotel I also couldn't fault from checkin to late checkout. Tip: breakfast is on the second floor opposite checkin. Saw a few lost people on 1 trying to work it out.

Thank you for sharing your comments regarding your stay with us. We are pleased that you had an overall fulfilling experience and enjoyed our service and were able to rejuvenate in your Heavenly Bed. Thank you also for the constructive comment regarding breakfast. There are two options for breakfast; The Boulevard Room on the second level services a complete menu and WBC Coffee on the first level that offers gourmet grab-and-go sandwiches, pastries, and Starbucks coffee.

We hope your travels bring you back to Detroit and to The Westin Book Cadillac.

Be well,

We paid $182 (including taxes) for a king room, upgraded, with great city views. The soothing sages and tans of Westin's spa-type décor were in evidence everywhere, and were very pleasing. Comfortable bed and great shower. Staff were helpful. We were only about four blocks from the Michigan Opera Theater, our destination for the evening, and comfortably walked there and back. We had a very nice dinner at "Roast" and an OK brunch at "24Grille", both in the hotel. All in all, a terrific weekend. We'll stay there again next time we go to the opera.

My first experience could not have been better. The room was beautiful and clean.(That's is very important.) The food was great and I got a chance to meet the owner, Wes. And, then I needed assistance and they sent Gary from security to help me get the issue resolved. I definitely will be back.

This hotel was nice and the bed very comfortable. We paid $188 for the night which was supposedly a $329 room. The room was really a $119-$129 room, so if you can score that price go for it. The lobby has a clinical feel, national monument feel. Good stay overall as it was a few blocks from the place were were seeing a band play, but nothing that would bring us back.

I stayed at the Westin on a Saturday night before a Red Wings game. It is a beautiful building in a great location close to many attractions downtown. Check in was very quick and simple, I think the girls name was Pauline. We were taken up to our room by young gentleman named John. He was very friendly and helpful. He gave us some ideas for some places to go for food and drinks. He also directed us to the people mover. The room itself had a great view and the beds were VERY comfortable, didn't want to get out of it in the morning. Great breakfast in the morning. They also have a great restaurant downstairs called Roast. I will be staying here again!
