I booked the MGM Grand Detroit as a getaway to celebrate an anniversary. The hotel service was great. Everyone who worked for the hotel was so kind and attentive. I feel Detroit gets a bad rap nationally. Come stay at a Detroit hotel, where the staff is really friendly. I didn't get any of the attitude I seem to get from Chicago hotels. Everyone, and I mean everyone seemed genuinely interested in making our stay wonderful, and it was. They upgraded us to a penthouse room, and it was the biggest and coolest room I've ever had. One of the flatscreen televisions in the room had an awesome surround sound system with subwoofer.
At the hotel, you feel safe. You can have a great time. The casino rocks, but the hotel is quiet and elegant. The pit boss I talked to was funny and helpful. The spa is gorgeous and really relaxed me and my wife. It was a great spot to spend a weekend.More
