Delicious food pretty much ensures that I will have a good time, and Eastern Market did not disappoint. There was a great vibe with people everywhere, even in January (although it was an unseasonably warm day). The market vendors themselves are in "Sheds." One shed seemed to have predominately vendors who were selling produce they grew themselves and some food trucks, while the other one that was open had a lot of vendors selling either veggies that were out of season or pre-packaged veggies that appeared to be from a grocery store. There did seem to be a lot of local pork and other meat products in that shed, though (my husband was very excited to buy some hickory-smoked bacon). Prices were reasonable and there were lots of samples. Walking in there was a restaurant blaring both live and pre-recorded music - all part of the experience I guess, but, uh, we didn't eat there. Everyone was very friendly. Very, very fun experience!
