Owner description: The Detroit People Mover (DPM) is a fully automated light rail system that operates on an elevated single-track loop in Detroit's central business district. Launched in 1987, the system’s 13 stations provide quick connections between the courts and administrative offices of several levels of government, sports arenas, exhibition centers, major hotels, and commercial, banking and retail districts. Service is frequent and unencumbered by vehicle or pedestrian traffic, and at just 75 cents per ride, it’s the best bargain in town!

“Short and Sweet - But Need More !”
Reviewed December 6, 2012

Michigan needs public transportation period. In Detroit people mover is a great start. If you consider this as a public transportation I am sure you will comment as it's a small limited area but if I think from a visitor's point of view, a traveler who is just visiting Detroit, I think this is great.

The "People Mover" is a close loops system that is a very very nominal fee $0.75 and it takes you around Detroit . A beautiful view and stops at all major places so you can get down and explore and jump back again.

I would love to see this concept expand more. Unfortunately it's a chicken and an egg story. Need more people to use it to expand and it need to expand and cover more area for people to use :)

My recommendation - Try it definitely ! Worth it !

“Limited”
Reviewed December 4, 2012

The People Mover needs to cover more areas of the city. It would be great for people who lived on the farther East side to use.

“A fun art tour”
Reviewed November 9, 2012

Every station has unique art work made especially for the People Mover. Jump on and off at each station and see such things as Pewibic Tile, people sculptures flying to catch the train, a man reading a paper - you think he's real. And best of all, you can see this art and get back on without paying each time - just don't go through the exit!!

“It's ok, but rather limited.”
Reviewed November 2, 2012

Have ridden the "People Mover" several times. It's limited to a rather small area of Detroit, so don't count on it to get you around like Chicago's EL or any large subway system.
