“Great school with exceptional staff and programs”

College for Creative Studies

Enrolled my daughter this year. The staff here are incredibly nice and everyone seems to put a great emphasis on helping their students to succeed. Campus is very secure and coursework and programs are designed to place students upon graduation.

Want to purchase some of the best artwork at great prices? Come out to CCS and check out their Student Exhibition every May. It's on for two weeks and has floors and floors of amazing artwork-ranging from huge paintings to functional ceramics to exquisite jewelry to wearable crafts. This place quietly produces some of the best artists around. The ambiance and the architecture that houses all of this art for two weeks is amazing. I'd also strongly suggest checking out some of the world class speakers the college brings in for its Woodward Avenue and Toyota Lecture series. Two massive galleries and a smaller student run gallery that have ongoing shows on the two campuses too. While it's a school, it still serves the public with some phenomenal art and speakers.

One other thing that I can't recommend enough is to come down to CCS during the neighborhood's Noel Night celebration in early December. Students and alumni sell their work at great prices. The ambiance and festive nature of the area is amazing.

This place is truly a quiet cultural gem in the area.

My experience was with the summer art camps offered for kids (sculpture, drawing, CAD, etc). Incredible resource if your child loves art. Graduate students' project exhibit was impressive.

This gem is a fairly well kept secret. Interesting displays and exhibits that change. It has an impact on the Detroit artistic scene.
