What a remember as a kid are the huge bags of roasted Germack pistachios. They were amazing and they still are. But, Germack is so much more now. Their coffee shop across from Detroit's Eastern Market is fabulous. The decor is handsome. Their coffee is yummy. Their baked goods offerings come from other local haunts. (The pumpkin bread/cake was moist and yummy...maybe a tad too sweet.) Next door is a beautifully organized space...showing off and selling Germack's current line up of roasted nuts and treats. They package their nuts (and original pistachios) in many sizes and types of containers. They also sell Sanders products including their famous hot fudge. Need a "Detroit" goodies gift basket, this is the place to get it. They have many other edible treats for sale. I believe they do mail order as well.

“Great coffee”
Reviewed December 3, 2013 via mobile

First time here, right next to the Germack gift and nut shop. Great coffee that is roasted right there. Very nice selection of tea and bulk spices as well. The coffee was stellar and the space is really great. I recommend anyone to make this a stop when in the Easter Market area of Detroit.

“Nuts glaore”
Reviewed November 27, 2013

I always stop and buy some nuts here and have a bite to eat. Great place to buy gifts and the nuts are the best. I especially like the Turkish pistachios and jumbo cashews.

“Just Plain Good”
Reviewed September 28, 2013

I usually grab coffe on the go when at Easter Market but I stop here when I want to have a seat, breathe a little, and have the an outstanding cup of coffee. There's a plus--they sell raw coffee beans and a family member has just taught me how to roast them at home. Hooray. They also sell baked goods from Avalon. That's two pluses.

“Nice Place to Take a Break at Eastern Market”
Reviewed August 29, 2013

This terrific little coffee shop located across from Eastern Market is a great place to take a quick coffee break from your morning browsing. The retro interior and exterior are attractive and there is a reasonable amount of seating to allow one to enjoy a quick respite. We just had the brewed coffee when we visited but there were plenty of more elaborate choices available. There also appeared to be a few tempting snack options. The old general store appearance with the soothing muted lighting made for a nice break from the bright, warm day. The service was up to par and the prices were reasonable. If you visit Eastern Market, look for this place on the periphery. I recommend it for a quick moment of relaxation.
