Baker's is one of the oldest jazz clubs in the country. The fried chicken is generous, reasonable and tasty and that's what most people have when they visit but the perch is also wonderful. So is the audience which ranges from academics to jazz groupies to Motown music veterans to the mothers of Motown music veterans. Thursday nights can be full of surprises- Saturday nights go early for better seating.
