Owner description: The Fillmore Detroit is a beautiful, historic venue located in the heart of Detroit's entertainment district. Originally opened in 1925 as a movie house, this elegant venue has been renovated to offer guests a unique concert and special event experience. As you walk through the grand lobby of The Fillmore Detroit you are embraced by the nostalgia of the original Fillmore chandeliers and the history they represent. Within the theatre, the 80-foot ceiling is flanked by the famous chandeliers and below you, a hardwood dance floor. As you walk down memory lane, catch a glimpse of the infamous rock poster wall featuring a small sampling of the endless artists who have graced this magnificent stage.

I like how it has two levels, the upper level has seating. I don't like that lower level main floor is standing only and the tables close by are reserved

“Nostalgic and Nice”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 4, 2013

If you like a theater that makes you feel relaxed but also have a bistro and theater setting. Sitting in the red velvet seats and seeing how the theater was brought back to the feel of old Detroit, is wonderful. The staff is very accommodating. If you want to do a fundraiser or special event, this is the place to have it for the look and set up of the theater. Stop by and take a tour, you will love it.

“The Fillmore”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 12, 2013

I have only eaten here once and it was free because I was one of the so called celebrity look a likes that were booked for entertainment prior to the floor show. This old movie theater,( The State Theater) still looks great. My food was delicious and the desert great. Service was as good as it gets. If I get time I plan on eating here at my own expense.

“Awesome Historic Place to See Your Favorite Bands”

This place is incredible! Given its age, it is very clean. You can get a good seat for relatively cheap and you can't beat being in a historical setting!

“Histortic place with great sound”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 8, 2013

My son & I went to see the Metal Alliance tour and we were really impressed with everything. The interior is very cool with all the old pillars & paintings. We sat in the mezzanine for the show and were happy with the seats as well as the sound! The chairs weren't smashed together like Auburn Hills so you can actually relax and they have tables staggered between every 2 seats for your drinks & merchandise. They have a bar on every floor which was a great feature I've never seen before. The staff was all very professional & friendly and seemed to really appreciate your business. We will definitely go back.
The only downside that we experienced is with the bathrooms. Being an old building I'm sure that's not something they planned for so there wasn't one on our level and the one upstairs was usually crowded. It's very small so maybe 5-6 people can be in there and with a nearly full house and a lot of beer flowing there was a line to get in.
