We walked down Woodward, planning to go to Hockey Town. We walked in and it was crowded and looked like a fancy sports bar. So.. we kept on walking and came across the Town Pump Tavern. What a find! It has lots of old woodwork with a nice bar and a good size seating area. Our 1st visit, we sat at the bar and had some drinks. The wait staff was friendly and there are many TV's with any game you want to watch. On our return visit to Detroit, we had lunch here. I had a turkey sandwich with curry sweet potato fries, my husband had a fish sandwich . All was very good. This would be a great place to visit before a Lion's or Tiger's game. Easy walk and fabulous atmosphere. I will return here when we visit Detroit.
